This hotel catering for anglers and locals has friendly staff. A good pool table and pool league and comforting food. New year is full of laughter and gossiping locals and local fishing is excellent. There is a selection of whiskies as one might expect and nothing is too much trouble for the hosts.

Visited the Carrutherstown Hotel for the umpteenth time for a short break at the end of last week. The welcome we received made us feel we are almost part of the family. Great company, excellent food, comfortable accommodation, pleasant regulars in the bar and good beer to boot! We'll be back in the not too distant future.

Having travelled back to the boat after watching a football match in Blackpool. Called into the hotel for our evening meal. Service was quick and all food freshly cooked. The staff were helpful. Will try to remember the venue again to call when driving along the A75. Cant remember seeing a sign at the side of the road. Just say... More

My partner and I went for our dinner only because we could not be bothered to cook at home. We had a starter of filled potato skins with salad and chilli side sauce followed by the home made steak pie. We could not manage a sweet as we were full up by then, but had a drink in the bar... More
