We booked this through an offer , so the price was excellent for one night stay with evening meal and breakfast. This could be an amazing place to stay with so much potential. Quiet location with beautiful views. The hall obviously has been an amazing building but in need of some TLC. On a brighter note, the food in the... More

Hotel in a lovely setting, rooms clean but not very warm. Food was good and staff were pleasant and very nice and attentive. There was a wedding on the second day but this did not effect our visit or any of our service they managed to keep guests separate and still provide a good report.

The initial welcome on arrival was v.good. Room nice and big, good sized bed and overall the standard of cleanliness was good. The meal in the restaurant was excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Ambiance was good. Nice log fire burning in the hallway All of the staff who served us were really pleasant and helpful. All in all we really... More

From some of the previous reviews I think we stayed in a different hotel. From checking in to checking out the staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room had amazing views over the hotel grounds and down to the Solway firth ,beautiful. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a lovely big bed, the bathroom was large and... More

Very nice and friendly staff. Smoke in the restaurant in the evening very disappointing, the food nothing special. Toilet didn't flush properly, smell in the corridors. The room was spacious, clean and cosy.

We had a gift from friends for a two night hotel stay and chose to stay here so we could attend the Lockerbie jazz festival (which was brilliant!) Yes, the hotel is tired is some areas but this adds to its country house feel. Our room was clean, warm and modern. Although the hotel is near a main road, we... More

This was a return visit for us. We stayed at Hetland Hall some years ago and I remembered that it then looked rather tired. In parts, it still is – though efforts are clearly being made to refurb the building. Our standard room (10) was very dated. The furniture was shabby and the room, with its purple curtains and bed-throw,... More

We got married in September and had Hetland Hall as our wedding reception venue and hotel. It's was fabulous, all my guest commented on the outstanding food and incredible service from all the staff. We all had great rooms and because of the interesting history of Hetland Hall, the building is unique and quirky. We managed to get some great... More

Just returned from 2 night break. Lovely location, in many acres of own grounds, trees, lawns and the like. Just off the main road from Gretna to Stranraer - quite a busy road but very little noise. Ample parking in front of the hotel,, which is in need of refurbishment. Advised that refurbishment is imminent. Generally tidy condition throughout but... More
