We stayed here for the night on our way to Turnberry. The location of the hotel is really good. There is ample parking around the hotel. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and very friendly. The food was really good. I had the sea bass which didn't disappoint, my father had the burger which was also really nice. The rooms...

Came back after a year, and although there was a change of manager, and re-siting of the reception area (not a good idea - the old site was much more convenient) the standard of cuisine, housekeeping and welcome to the traveller was unchanged. Everyone was most welcoming and helpful and the food and rooms were excellent. I'll be back, and...

Clean, good wee catch up but not completely central. Good if you have a car or don't mind a bit of a walk into town about 2 miles Room clean and a decent size. Parking tight but ok Staff were helpful and kind. Gave me a peppermint tea bag st the bar for later in my room

The hotel setting is fantastic. The grounds make for a peaceful stay. Staff are great and the food tasty and not OTT in terms of prices. Not my first stay here and I'll come back. The rooms in the new building are well maintained and don't make you feel like you are staying in a standard box. The old part...

We spent 2 nights here 10/11 Mar and was really impressed by the hotel. Location is superb as part of the Crichton Estate but it can be tricky to find so be advised, get directions! Hotel staff are excellent - cannot fault them - in fact, every staff member I saw spoke to me - that in itself is exemplary....

Overall an enjoyable stay. Spacious rooms, good standard of decor and clean. Had an evening meal in the restaurant and whilst the standard of food was good I felt it was a little pricey particularly the soft drinks (£3.25 each drink).

Went for a Sunday carvery and we were very pleased . Lovely setting in the grounds of the old hospital and in an old building (unlike the hideous new part ). Food was delicious and the tastiest gravy we have ever had. Would recommend it and we will certainly go again

The usual good standard, clean quiet room reasonable priced if booked in advance. The breakfasts tasty, my one grumble why only 4 coffee sachets? It's 1 weak brew each or 1 strong drink. Ate in restaurant this time since MPW left, bit pricy and limited choice but ok.
