Stayed here for a couple of nights while working in the area. First things first, if you are looking for a hotel with brand new fixtures and fittings, double glazing and took a week to build, then go find a premier inn. If you want something different with a bit of history and friendly staff, then here you go.

Staff pleasant. Room very tired . Needs modernising but overall adequate. Breakfast fine dining room a little stark without any atmosphere.. Probably would not stay again until the the rooms have been refurbished.

We visit here every couple of months as it 5 minutes from our house. We took mum for her birthday meal here 24th of December with family. A lively warm welcome from John and the staff and service was fantastic!

We originally just ordered soup but then decided to have the carvery. We should have stuck to the soup. Turkey was cold. Roast potatoes were so hard they were impossible to cut. Veg was overcooked. Service was slow. Awful experience won't be back.

Had a really lovely time at the Buccleuch, we were in a party of 18 staying locally and had a really great meal. They kindly put us in one of the two large rooms so we had privacy. The selection of food on the menu was great and very well cooked. Service excellent and staff very friendly. Definitely recommended.

An overnight stay and meal after a long day. Staff were friendly and welcoming, offering help with luggage. This is an old building and has lots of stairs. Room was warm, comfortable and quiet even though the hotel is on the main square in Moffat. The restaurant menu is original, uses locally sourced food and our meals were exceptionally good....

Stopped in Moffat for bit of lunch. The restaurant is in a very old hotel and I could say some of the wooden original features and glass could do with a polish...but those very features are what we loved about the place. Great place to sit in a lovely old parlour type place with roaring real fire but modern tables...
