An unassuming building holds a gem of a pub, restaurant and hotel in a terraced street just up from the Lifeboat Station. We were immediately impressed when we stepped inside this warren of a complex. We arrived on Thursday evening - Folk Night - where singers and musicians just turn up to play and sing all night in a wonderfully... More

Warm welcome, good food and company at Fisherman's Tavern in Broughty Ferry near Dundee. Right on waterfront and close to beach. We had a twin room on the top floor and although not a huge room it met our needs for the night. Would definately recommend this to all looking for comfort and good home cooking.

The hotel is situated in a small village near a lovely beach. The room was modern and comfortable but in a lovely traditional pub. Breakfast was excellent and meals in the pub were good value. Broughty Ferry castle was nearby, free to enter and well worth a look around. We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights spent here.

The Tavern comprises of 3 adjoining terraced houses and looks very traditional from the outside. It does not have any dedicated parking but I easily found a space around the corner overlooking the river Tay estuary-what a view at sunset. A warm welcome and was promptly shown to my room. My room was fairly modern inside with 2 single beds,... More

The food here is excellent ... Great choice and always cooked to an excellent standard and the portion sizes would make Desperate Dan swoon! The pub on the other hand has sticky floors and sticky tables....yuk yuk totally off putting. I'll stick to the restaurant in future

We often pop in here for a bite to eat and have always found it warm and friendly. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is also very good. I would have no hesitation in recommending it and we will return!

The Fisherman's is a great little old fashioned pub - good beer well kept! The rooms are clean and functional - not in any way fussy or over complicated. The staff are great - informal and helpful and like the breakfast warm and well presented! This is a pub with rooms - of course it can be noisy - it's... More

From the outside on a dreich (dull and cloudy and a little damp if not Scots) day the place belies its interior. From my arrival to my departure the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. I was given clear explanations about food etc. My room surpassed my expectations perhaps because the hotel was quiet and I was given a bigger... More

Recently stayed at the hotel, it is nice and central and offers good food choice and some real ales for those beer fans. Staff could not do enough to help. Room was clean and tidy, being a listed building there is no double glazing so you do get some street noise. Full cooked breakfast was provided. I would certainly use... More
