My partner and I staid at the Bield for a weekend in August, in the midst of the Edinburgh Festival, and honestly could not have been happier! The overwhelming feedback on Tripadvisor is fully deserved... and part of me would like to keep this jewel of a B&B a secret so that it doesn't get too crowded/overbooked;) Anyhow, a huge...

This B&B is lovley , thanks to Linda and Kens hard work. The Bield is excellent value for money very clean with top quality bedding and towles. There is lots of choice for breakfast and the cheese board was second to none , very nice. We did like the flexabillity of the breakfast times. Thank you , Sharon,Bridget and Helen....

Great location, however you may need to help the taxi driver find Orchard Brae West if you are coming from the Airport. Location is superb, close to the city with the bus stop to and from the city virtually at your doorstep, via the No 19, 37 or 47 buses. Buses are regular and easy to catch, Ken & Linda...

This B & B is excellent. It is 10 mins. walk tp Princess st. Buses stop outside. Most attractions are within walking distance even HMY Britannia if you like to walk. Having said all this it is still very quiet at night time. Form the moment you arrive it is like meeting old friends. Linda & Ken are brilliant ,...

Bield B&B has been of significant contribution to the success of our recent visit to Scotland. The warm hospitality extended to us, the absolute kindness of Linda and Ken and the unusual personal care we benefited from were such that we enjoyed every single minute of our stay in this charming and extremely well located guest house. Jean-Jacques and Muriel...

Just returned from a 7-day trip to Edinburgh, staying at the Bield. I must have stayed at hundreds of B&Bs, but the service, friendliness and standards at the Bield really are marvellous. (I reckon they must be aiming for a 5-star rating next year!) Their cooked breakfasts are flexible for vegetarians or meat-lovers. The continental was a croissant plus toast,...

We chose this B & B for our 4 night stay in Edinburgh in the hope that it would be within walking distance to the centre of town but in a quiet enough location that my very light-sleeping boyfriend would be able to enjoy an unbroken nights sleep.Happily it fulfilled both these criteria, whilst also being a very pleasant place...

We stayed at The Bield for three nights and were quite taken by the 15 - 20 walk to Princes Street and also the same distance to the pubs and restaurants of Stockbridge. There is also an unobtrusive bus stop only yards away with a very regular service into the centre. The hosts, Linda and Ken, do their level best...

The rooms were nicely presented and very clean. As I was travelling with elderly relatives I wanted somewhere near the centre I could park a car - so this facility was very handy. Transport - buses just outside, but a taxi ride to Princes street only £5.00. Breakfast lovely and all round level of service very high.
