We stayed at the McDonald for 3 nights and was perfect. It's a small quiet place, just 4 rooms, and lovely. Our room was very nice and comfortable, plenty of space and with a great bed to sleep. Breakfast was carefully prepared evry morning according to our desire, Marion asked the day before what you wanted for breakfast. So, we...

We initially found this B&B on Trip Advisor and went for it based on the reviews it already had. Our sentiments would seem to echo what everyone has written so far. Lovely hosts, clean and well appointed rooms and great location for exploring Edinburgh!! Breakfasts are an important marker of any place that we stay in and The McDonald did...

Marion and Norrie made us most welcome on our recent stay in Edinburgh. The guest house is well positioned, with easy access to the city centre, and the Scottish breakfasts are superb. Highly recommended. We will return!

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Mcdonald Guest house. Our hosts welcomed us warmly and were very helpful. The room was not large but exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and entertaining. The guest house is very secure and conveniently located. We will happily return.

Our first visit to Scotland was greeted by Norman and Marion with the warmest of welcomes. Marion and Norman have recently renovated this lovely Victorian guest house with great attention...

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful stay in Edinburgh, made especially memorable by Marion and Norman, our kind and jovial hosts at the McDonald Guesthouse. They gave us a very warm welcome, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room (all bedrooms are on the ground floor) was comfortable and spotlessly clean. There's a...

Arrived in Edinburgh on June 17 after a long journey from Canada. We were meeting family for the first time, who live just outside of Edinburgh, and they drove us to McDOnald House. We were eager to eat some dinner so we checked in to the B&B and dropped our bags, but not without a warm welcome from Marion. The...

Marion and Nory were so amazing and Marion made amazing breakfasts and there was always a fresh pot of coffee in waiting for us. The place was quiet and wonderful and about a 10 minute walk from Old Edinburgh. Nory told us the best places to eat and...

The McDonald guest house is clean, comfortable and welcoming, and only a very short distance from all of the wonderful things to do in Edinburgh. The service was both prompt and friendly. The owners also gave us great recommendations as to where to go, what to see and where to eat. The room was immaculately clean, the cooked full Scottish...
