We were at a concert at the Castle, couldn't have got a better location. Room was excellent with a fabulous view of the old town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good, hotel bar very busy but thats a good sign :-)
We arrived after a long flight from Denver and Detroit (via Newark), tired but very excited. Our group of weary travelers included my 69 and 75 year old parents, myself and my 18 year old son. We were greeted by stylishly kilt clad bellmen and...More

Thank you for your kind comments, I'm so happy you all had a relaxing time with us in Edinburgh, despite the jet lag! Whilst we love all the tradition that Scotland has to offer, we are very proud to have our own more...More
Spot on location on Royal Mile so easy walk to castle and only a ten minute walk (up!) from train station.
It's got a really cool vibe to it and you are greeted by very handsome young Scotsmen in kilts on arrival and very friendly...More
This is a wonderful hotel in the centre of the Royal Mile. Staff was wonderful and the rooms were spacious and quiet. We could walk all of old Town and easily access New Town when we wanted. Highly recommended.
We stayed here from July 12-19th. We had a Junior Deluxe Suite, which included breakfast free mini bar in room. The room was small, but clean.
The view was wonderful! There were two giant windows in the room, facing the street.
The shower was very...More

Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.

The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the city - both the old town & the new town. It's a short walk to the High Street ( Royal Miles ) which stretches from Edinburgh Castle down to Holyrood Palace with much to explore. Turning right from the hotel entrance and then right again leads you into Victoria St which takes you to the Grassmarket with a choice of restaurants and pubs in abundance. The new town - including Princes St. - is a ten minute walk.
Transport to the hotel can be taken by Edinburgh Trams from the airport to Princes St (£5) or the Airport Link bus service which slightly cheaper and terminate at Waverley Station (rail) with a short walk up The Mound.

This hotel is steps from the Royal Mile. Edinburgh is not that big - but can't recall exactly how close to town center. I would check their website or send them an email. I believe it was about 20 minutes to airport. I used Uber and depending on time of day - that will affect cost.
