I stayed with a friend in this very comfortable, welcoming B and B on the edge of the New Town. The room was excellent and the freshly cooked organic breakfasts were of very high quality. There were home cooked muffins and scones as well. The location is quiet yet only a fifteen minute walk from all the sites. There are...

Another lovely stay. Quiet clean room. Excellent location for walking in to the festival. Excellent communication from John prior to arrival, and helpful once again during our stay. And the sweet porridge is a must - even in the middle of the summer!

An oasis of calm in a frenetic city during The Fringe. A quick 15 min walk to everything but in a quiet neighborhood among many restaurants. John, the host is a class act. Plan to return and use his B&B on a 'Roots' trip. Large rooms and bath, super breakfast and strong wifi. Perfect for our needs.

I stayed here for a few days during the Fringe, and enjoyed my stay very much. The room was very spacious (the bed is huge!) and very comfortable, with a good bathroom. The breakfast is nice with good choices, and lovely home-baking. The host is very helpful and friendly. It is about a 20 minute walk into town, but there...

If you dont have any walking problems then McCraes' B&B is just far away from city centre to have a nice quiet location, but near enough to be within walking distance (about 20/25 mins) There are buses from the end of the road. Our room was very spacious, downstairs and at the rear of the house. I couldnt hear any...

A 15-20min walk to Waverly Station and the touristy areas... In the other direction, about a 30min walk to the shore... I found this to be an excellent location for an affordable stay slightly removed from the city's main strip. Hosts are very polite and accommodating, go for a breakfast upgrade if you stay, it was worth it (especially the...

Thanks for the positive review Phil. I'm glad you've highlighted that we're not a hotel, purpose built with sound-proofing, etc. We are in fact just a normal Edinburgh New Town family home that was built over 150 years ago and you will occasionally hear noise from my family, and other guests, in the same way you would likely hear noise...

We have really enjoyed our stay here! The rooms were clean and had all the supplies we needed! The owner was very friendly and offered to help in any way! I also like how there was a map in the room and books all on the city center. Very helpful when it came to planning our day

It was a great experience. Manager was a perfect host, accommodation was 1st class and breakfasts were delicious. Would highly recommend this establishment and the location was excellent. About a 20 minute leisurely stroll into the heart of the city. We also liked the fact that we could leave and enter the premises at our leisure.
