Flew over some family from Ireland to attend the Scotland/Ireland 6 nations match and stayed in this very central hotel in Edinburgh. Excellent commute to Murrayfield Stadium as the tram and local bus service both had stops outside their entrance or just a few minutes walking distance. Linda at check in was very friendly and informative and really made us...

Really great location meaning I could walk wherever I needed to get to and very affordable too. Room size was great - very spacious and very clean which is a huge must for me! Good facilities and didn't skimp on the tea/coffee facilities :) Access to local bars which meant getting back wasn't too difficult and the staff were great....

We stayed in a family room, two adults and three kids, The room was spacious, the kids could play comfortably, we loved the high ceilings. The window was beautiful and had excellent views. The cleanliness was average, the first day, we found M&Ms under one of the beds, and the beds were sometimes poorly made. But not a big deal....

I know how hit and miss Edinburgh hotels are and what they charge. This is a little gem. Spotless rooms. Comfy huge beds and black out drapes kept the city hidden from sight and sound. Plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast well worth pre paying £5.95 for the continental buffet and great location. Air bus and tram literally on the...

Stayed here last year just after Christmas and was very surprised at how affordable it was especially for being in the city centre! Also you can bring your dog with you if they can't be left at home!😁

A nice find this time for a hotel/room in Edinburgh. The check-in was simple and efficient, and the decor was modern and pleasant. Stairs were easy to access (especially as most places in Edinburgh tend to have small and ancient steps) and there was the lift too. The rooms are bright and big, compared to usual Edinburgh standards. Would easily...

Booked for my wife and I and stayed here whilst over visiting. Firstly couldn't ask for a better location! Bus service from the airport every 10 minutes which drops you right off outside the hotel. Rooms basic, but clean. Couldn't ask for more as I thought they were priced accordingly. We arrived way before check in time which was no...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
