The hotel was clean, quiet and warm (necessary for my February stay) and situated in an excellent central location within walking distance of shops, public transport and tourist attractions. This was the second time I have stayed at this hotel.

Extremely central location, very clean, large room, found that twins beds were available and receptionist swapped the double room for a twin, which we appreciated. Nice and warm. Décor all looked new. Would certainly stay here again. Price reflects location.

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst in Edinburgh for the rugby. The hotel is within a 10 minute walk from Waverley station but no parking on site if you have a car. The hotel is situated on Rose Street which is full of bars and restaurants. Despite asking for a room away from the lift, we were given a...

Room was clean & spacious, hotel was very central however the building work outside our window at 8am on a Saturday was not cool! I did think it was expensive but it was a rugby weekend so I guess everyone hikes their prices up! Apart from that it was a pleasant stay and we probably would use again.

Stayed here for a night. Beds were extremely comfy, staff was lovely and the rooms were nice and clean. Can't make a single complaint. Would definitely stay again as it was in a great area too. The windows were great for blocking out noise. Heard next to nothing :) Would come back.

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
