Having read a few reviews of this place all I can say is what a place. Was a bit worried about staying here at first as the reviews were mixed so wasn't sure what we would walk into however upon meeting the owner when we arrived he was a lovely guy and very helpful told us all about the best...

I booked this apartment for our first visit to Edinburgh, so just based it on the distance from the attractions we wanted to visit and of cause the price!! It was cheep for myself my 7 year old daughter and mum. I messaged the property a few times with the odd question (taxi costs, towels etc) and they always replied...

Loved our apartment! Superb location within walking distance of everything including pubs, restaurants, tourist attractions and transportation. Less than a 5 minute walk to Princes Street, where you'll find the tram system and most bus routes. We had gotten the tram to Murray Field for a rugby game, but afterwards decided to walk back, and only took about 10-15 minutes!

You will not get much sleep in this place. Constant noise of traffic and people through the night !! it never stops!! Stayed here thurs to fri and even after a belly full of beer was still kept awake with the noise. None of the windows closed in the appt properly therefore unable to drown a bit of the noise...

Truly a central location. We were on the 3rd floor (stairs) facing the street. As it was the weekend...lots of traffic noise (including numerous ambulances and fire engines), a few late night singers from the pubs and restaurants nearby :-). ...as you would expect from the centre. Shops for food etc. Are very close by as well. Rooms are clean...

Central apartments at home street Edinburgh. Clean and tidy ,though not very spacious in the living area department. We had 3 adults and 11year old so the living area as a said was crowded as its got the kitchen attached. We had a top floor and with no lift was very tough going, especially if your a smoker and had to...

If you are a frequent traveller on budget, this is exactly what you need. I do think, that some of the reviews below are not fair as the property reflects the price you pay (especially compared with other hotel prices in the city). The heating was on the whole time, the flat was clean and the location was just perfect....

You have to stay here! I have no words. Everything about this place was amazing, from the amazing people greeting us to the suite itself. And the price was just the mini cherry on top of the regular cherry on top of the awesomeness that this place was. STAY HERE!!

Okay. These apartments are never going to win any awards. There are a lot of minor cosmetic issues; the phone plug socket in the hall was loose, the shower control bar was fitted at a slant, and in general it could use a spruce up. BUT. And it's a big but. If you can live with it not being perfectly...

Booked into this apartment for 3 nights over the Christmas period. The apartment in itself was warm, clean and very spacious for the 2 of us (there was 1 double bed, 1 single, sofa bed and a camp bed). Its by no means luxury but who needs that when you are out most of the time enjoying the sights of...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
