Stayed recently for business. Nice location, slightly off the beaten track so reasonably quiet and lovely building. The hotel is somewhat boutique style and has a lovely character. The restaurant was very good as was the room service. The room was different each time I stayed and each has a nice unique style. Bathrooms are clean and serviceable, the bed...

A really great hotel, fantastic food, hats off to the chef.......... and the friendliest staff I have ever met, thanks for a great stay with my daughter and (her bicycle !!) We had a nice room with a good view, and the hotel is a five minute walk from Princes street.

We bought a deal on 'it is on' for afternoon tea with prosecco here.... felt special the minute we walked through the door - lovely, sumptious surroundings. Staff really nice and accommodating too. The only downside was that we had to wait just outside the dining room for the only serving member of staff to come and seat us -...

Wonderful location, great and friendly service, clean and well appointed room, understated old style elegance throughout public areas. We had breakfast included in rate with either continental or Scottish. The continental was more than enough for us. Highly recommended

This was probably our eighth stay at the Bonham. We have loved it every time. They cannot be nicer and more accommodating. The breakfast is outstanding -- great croissants and full order off the menu. I am always partial to the eggs benedict. The rooms are large -- I especially appreciate that the curtains are lined with blankets to keep...

Go Boozy Snoozy on a Saturday or Sunday, it truly is great value. I have been here quite a few times and twice members of my party have been significantly late for a lunch booking, both times the staff have been amazing and even though this was not my fault, I did feel responsible but was made to feel like...

Would recommend hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in the heart of the West End of Edinburgh. Great location for all main attractions, all within walking distance. Staff are really friendly nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and tidy. Will stay here again if we ever venture up to Scotland again.

I was given vouchers for the 'Boozy Snoozy' lunch for you birthday and was delighted with all aspects of the lunch. The service was efficient yet discrete, the food was delicious and the wine (half bottle per person) was fine. I've already recommended Bonhams to friends and we definitely plan to go back!

I stopped at the Bonham for the first time last month, it is situated near Princess Street, and has it's own car park, which is handy. I stopped for two nights. The rooms were spacious and were very clean and tidy.I never ate in the restaurant at night, because it was only a 8 minute walk to princess street, and...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
