decent hotel, My room was quite small and the bathroom very small. Not very warm in the room either and the wind whistled through the windows. So sleep could have been better!!! I have stayed here previously with no issues though.

This is by far my favorite Jury's hotel that I have stayed in. Fantastic location with the most friendly staff. Great food for a hotel and a lively bar. Cannot fault the hotel other than the rooms are in need of modernisation, for this reason I have rated it 4/5.

On arrival the reception area was very presentable, staff friendly and helpful. However we have a family room but getting 3 in would be a squeeze, bathrooms small and in need of updating. Bar clean and tidy. Not sure the breakfast was worth the money.

The hotel looks lovely from the lobby, bar and restaurant but...in this case looks are decieving. The bedrooms are terrible. The staff even agreed saying it is waiting for an update. We had mould growing in our bathroom and cracked tiles too. We did get offered a room change but it was a case of really poor to just poor....

If you are likely to make a short visit to magnificent Edinburgh, then Jury's Inn would be a perfect choice! It is opposite to the train station and so close to all city's attraction. The hotel is reasonably good for the price and location. During my stay (Easter weekend) it was full of children and students who were apparantely on...

I had emailed the hotel several times as a reminder that we would arrive after midnight due to a late flight. When we (including my 8 year old) arrived at the hotel at almost 1am, our room was not ready and it was going to take an hour to prepare. The only other option was to take a double room...

Good location close to rail links, great staff and food, room/bathroom in need of slight upgrade. Quiet two day break unfortunately included noise from outside generator, stairway carpet fitter, also special request when booking included a bath in bathroom disappointed by being extremely small an average height person would have knees on chest and would have very little widthways space...

Hotel quite well placed. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and quite large but noticed stains on shower floor and cracks in hand basin but beds were comfortable. Parking was at Waverley train station within minutes of the hotel and can be redeemed at hotel for a discount before paying. Safety deposit box was a good idea...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
