As first time visitors to the amazing city of Edinburgh we picked the Radisson based on recent reviews. Couldn't have been more impressed, great central location, lovely, spacious rooms, friendly staff and a breakfast to die for. One word of warning for those on a budget. The bar prices were a tad on the pricey side. A red wine (175m)...

Stayed here during my trip to Edinburgh. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable as they recommended solid places to eat and a great tour of Old Town. I stayed in two different rooms - both were immaculate and comfortable with lots of space for all the stuff I lugged across the ocean for a ten day trip. Also, the view...

The staff here were very friendly and helpful. The room was pleasant and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast and thought it was reasonably price. We also enjoyed using the pool and sauna. However, we were a disappointed that there was no hot tub. This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Old town and within walk distance to many attractions....

Very good position for exploring the Old Town and close to the station. Rooms are spacious, clean and modern. The breakfast is excellent with lots of choice. Check-in was a little on the slow side (queued for 10-15mins before being seen at reception). Would definitely stay again.

Stayed in one of the executive rooms for a treat and was not disappointed The room was very spacious. Bed was very comfortable as was the seating area! The view towards Calton hill was gorgeous! This hotel is ok. It's 4* alright, and the facilities are good, location is good. But nothing is great. Nothing blows you away. The breakfast is a standard hot buffet, the restaurant like every other Rad Blu. Honestly, try the G&V down the road, it's the same hotel group, but the extras make it better value. Location is better and...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
