Our first visit and on arrival we could see immediately what all the fuss was about. This place is stunning! It re-writes the dictionary definition of decadent. Its the Witchery by the Castle, then some. Our room was in the same vein; a most romantic location. Sadly, the bottle of champagne we were promised on arrival was not in evidence....

Stayed at the Prestonfield last weekend and was truly disappointed by the whole experience. The room cost £325 an absolute shocker when you are faced with a room that feels like the walls are closing in on you. The dark decor and poor lighting, extremely high and uncomfortable bed, shower that doesn't work, TV with no power cable really need...

Afternoon tea at Prestonfield is just lovely. While the tea itself was outstanding - the most delicious haggis bon bons, the lightest scones and a delicious cake selection it was the setting and the service that added to a lovely afternoon. Every member of staff was welcoming, pleasant, helpful and the service is just perfect. What a lovely way to...

Afternoon tea, was outstanding, great surroundings and service was spot on, I would however like to be offered more tea but it didn't spoil my experience. The upstairs room by the roaring fire was so lovely on a cold and dull day, felt like I was in an episode of Downton.

Arriving at the front entrance of the prestigious Prestonfield House after driving through the dreary southern suburbs of Edinburgh immediately lifts the spirits. Magnificent mature grounds with immaculate lawns, strutting peacocks, highland cattle and the backdrop of Edinburgh's Arthur's Seat take you back to a gentler age. Welcoming staff eager to assist show us to our opulent room festooned in...

My good lady and I enjoyed a Mothers Day treat of Afternoon Tea from our offsprings from last year...never quite got round to going. We've had a few teas elsewhere but never to this standard. It was superb in all respects. But did you know the raspberry jam they use is freshly made in the kitchens each morning! Well I'm...

We stayed for dinner and breakfast to celebrate a birthday. From the moment we arrived the staff went out of their way to make us feel special. Nothing was too much trouble. The suite we booked was sumptuous, luxurious and opulent on a grand scale, spotlessly clean, well stocked mini-bar and excellent coffee making machine. The whole experience was so...
