I visited Edinburgh in end of March/early April this year. I had previously stayed at another easyHotel so I had an idea of what it would involve: a basic service with no frills. The location on Princes Street was ideal. The room was small but clean, and as suggested by other travellers we chose a standard room with a window....

Hotel not bad for one night on a budget. Yes the rooms are like shoeboxes and yes the walls are paper thin but for £25 per night you can't really complain. Don't bring loads of stuff as there's no where to put it in the room but it is fine for the price. Staff are friendly however there is no...

I knew that for this price in the middle of Edinburgh one doesn't get much. However, our tiny room was so badly thought out that the toilet/shower blocked access to the double bed! It would've been nice if they bothered changed the moldy shower curtain when I pointed it out. go and stay in a B&B instead.

I stayed quite a few times at Easy hotels in London and I was more than happy for these categories of hotels. So i booked in Edinburgh as well. Clean and tidy room but I think not too polite, welcoming and helpful hostess. More like we were bothering them every time we asked for something!

Just like a room on a ferry small and the tiny cubical for a toilet. However it was fine and cheaper than a taxi to get back home after a show. The rooms were clean and the staff were nice enough. It's fine for one night and a great location.

We booked this hotel for 1 night so we could go to the theatre and have a few drinks without driving back to Glasgow. The location is perfect and in the middle of everything which is the best thing about the hotel. The staff had a personality of a robot. We expected the rooms to be small after reading the...

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your review. We are happy that you liked our central location. The rooms at easyHotel are indeed small but that is the concept of the business where we offer small rooms at a great price in the very center of the city. Also we provide room descriptions on the website, where the room measurements...

Terrible access up narrow stairs to a small reception Room even smaller about 6ft wide with double bed crammed in and a cabin shower etc, only just enough room to stand then have to climb over partner to get into bed, no window only extracteur for air and very noisy, can hear everyone coming and going Would definitely not recommend...

These are drop in plastic pods. There is zero sound insulation so you can hear everything, even 2-3 rooms away. They are very small but that didn't bother us too much and it is very centrally located but I don't care how cheap it is, if you can't sleep it's not worth it. Judging by the noise it is used...

This hotel is such amazing value - and if you read the website, they clearly state the style of the hotel. Is it very basic and very small, but actually very clean and in a perfect location! Princes St is right on your doorstep! One small drawback is the luggage storage at £2.50 a piece - I get it that...

The 'rooms' in this hotel (I use the word loosely) are tiny. They are approx 10' x 6'. which includes a small double bed and a shower/Loo. This is not advertised on their website. After having a good laugh at the size of it and having to dance around each other (one had to sit on the loo whilst the...

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
