I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions on business and now that the tram service is working the Airport run is a delight. I also use the rail service and Edinburgh Waverley is a 12 minute walk away. The hotel is quite unique in the area for comfort and good food. Great beds and services. The...

The hotel is in a great location, bus stop right at the front door and a 20 minute walk into town. The staff was incredible nice and helpful. The room was a bit disappointing. I do need to say that I booked the petite double room. I am sure the more expensive rooms are much nicer. Mine was in the...

We stayed in The Dunstane City building across the road from the main house. The room was lovely, the staff were very helpful and the location couldn't have been better for access to the city offering limited free parking. We didn't eat in the restaurant as had plans in the city. We were offered breakfast but £15 for a continental...

Hello there ali_batch Thank you for your lovely review of your stay in our Luxury Townhouse. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. With regards to breakfast if you are wanting to include it, it is a much more cost effective way to a book Bed and Breakfast rate when you select your room. This gives you a discount...

My husband and I stayed here so we could enjoy a night out in Edinburgh without having the usual drive home (and without our toddler!) We were greeted by Greg ( think that was his name) and he was very polite and welcoming. Our room was in the building across the road. The Victorian house has been styled in a...

Lovely hotel between Edinburgh city and airport. Beautiful house in the Edinburgh suburb 5 min to downtown. The inside is gorgeous, very typical and old with few modern touches. The room was clean and beautiful. Restaurant was good and beautiful also. I recommend.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
