When we arrived we parked the car in front of the Ben Dornan Guest House. There were 2 other cars already parked but when we went out later the three cars were blocked in by three more cards parking directly behind them. There is no way Guest House would know whose car belonged to who so just as well we...

We booked in for two nights (1st and 2nd September 2012). List of issues include: - Breakfast is terrible unless you just want Full English (not Scottish). Otherwise, minimal fruit, choice of cereals, only white bread etc. We ended going out for breakfast the 2nd morning - Intermittent Internet despite paying £5 a day for a virtually non existant service...

First, the positives: -Location. Multiple bus stops for nearly all city lines (or connecting to other lines) pretty much right outside the door. On the days when it was 'nice' it was less than a thirty minute walk to the Royal Mile. There is some traffic, as it's on a major road, but nothing ever kept me up at night...

We had a great time at the Ben Doran! Nice rooms with comfortable beds and beautiful views. Very good breakfast with plenty to choose from. A small, personal hotel with good service and friendly staff. We walked to town every day, which took about half an hour. Near by there are cafes, bars and convenience store. The only downside was...

I stayed here with my fiancé last winter and we spent a good stay in this nice B&B: friendly staff, comfortable rooms, good traditional buffet breakfast. The hotel is very near to the city centre! If you are looking for a good hotel in Edimburgh, it will be the right solution. P.S. Book the room with the bathroom inside, and...

We stayed here for five nights at the end of April. The staff was very understanding and helpful, and we felt that we would enjoy our stay there. Rooms were tidy and nicely furnished with comfy beds and complete with the typical waterboiler for tea in the room. Nice detail! The shared bathroom was not so bad and kept clean...

For a first time traveler to Scotland, I was impressed by the Ben Doran. Alexandria, the innkeeper, was very nice and hospitable. The place is immaculate, my room was spacious and though I had a shared bathroom, it was always in spotless condition. The bathroom was newly remodeled and there were absolutely no problems with sharing it. The breakfast every...

My boyfriend and I consider ourselves ever so lucky to find such a gem! Absolutely beautiful decor and the atmosphere was very calm and warm, we felt so at home! I could have almost come down in the morning for breakfast in my pyjamas! Whilst I am often put off by the prospect of a shared bathroom, this was one...

When we first arrived we were very disappointed. It definitely doesn’t live up to the photos! The decor was dated (not in a character giving way), the socket in our room didn’t work, the shower was, although clean, very old and took many spins to even get the water running let alone hot. WARNING: The flush in the toilet wouldn’t...

We were lucky enough to get the basement room, absolutely mint, was like having ya own apartment, nicely decorated, loved the orignal wooden floor in excellent condition, very clean and very well presented, towels pristine white, tv with freeview on, shower area really clean.....no mould growth or smell dirty shower curtains lol. Staff were very accommodating, friendly and polite. No...
