What a farce! Booked a suite for my wife 40th birthday including early check in for 10am and champagne in the suite. We arrived to be greeted by the most miserable receptionist I have ever met only to be told the suite was not ready! When we eventually got the key an went in the suite there was no champagne...

Very good located at Princess street in the heart of Edinburgh. This is the good thing. My room was more than average, very simple and not even a safe and overlooking the backyard. Coffee maschine in the room. Wifi free and worked well. The checkin was not friendly at all, a very rude woman. Breakfast was good and it was...

Service:- We booked two rooms with early check in (from 10am) costing £20 per room & champagne at £50. We arrived at 11.45 and one of our rooms was not ready. The gentleman at reception very kindly offered us a free drink whilst we waited although this was not communicated very well to the bar. The waiter was uninterested and...

The hotel has a very central location, just a few minutes walk from the airport bus stop, railway station, old town, art galleries, shopping. Good choice at breakfast. A perfect place to stay for a weekend trip.

We stayed only for one night, as part of our UK trip. With such a convenient and strategic location in such a magnificent city, we really wish that we have allocated more time to explore Edinburgh and stay at the hotel. Most certainly will return again to the hotel if we were given the opportunity to return to Edinburgh.

Amazing location...... a few minutes walk to everything!! Really good breakfast also! I found the reception staff unhelpful, thought the decor was dated and the whole hotel was in need of a good clean! The food in restaurant was overpriced & disgusting! Other good points were that it was quiet & let us check in early!

Despite arriving early, I was allowed to check in. All the staff I encountered were friendly & helpful. There was a wide choice for breakfast with great views of the castle from the restaurant. For tourists, the location was ideal, situated as it is a short walk from Waverley station and right on the main shopping street. My only real...

First of all, I have to say the location of this hotel is just perfect, very close to the railway station and super convenient to all the places of interests in the city centre. Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
