Stopped for a drink and lunch whilst in edinburgh, the menu was good, staff were more than accommodating and the price was decent for a city centre bar! It looked like a usual pub from the outside but once inside the decor seemed a lot more upper-class than we expected!

Both myself and my girlfriend loved our one night stay. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted & checked in hassle free. (Reception at end of bar, table reserved for people checking in too) This hotel is an older building so no elevator and only has only 9 rooms but this is what sets it apart in my opinion. The team...

Stayed for 2 nights, had lovely stay, excellent service. Rooms were gorgeous and bathroom really nice with a good shower. Only tiny thing was noise outside on Saturday night but that's the price you pay for staying in the middle of everything which I wouldn't change. I would definitely stay here again!

Clean with good furnishings, a free safe, large enough for a laptop and a great shower and bathroom and a separate toilet. As we had booked direct we had a complimentary bottle...

Welcoming staff. Great breakfast. Fab cocktails. Very comfortable rooms with some very good extras like the straighteners, brilliant for the often wet & windy weather. Location is excellent. I can't rate this hotel highly enough & would definitely stay here again.

Booked in November for a stay in February, Dougie (I believe is the GM) was very professional and courteous on the phone. The rooms are gorgeous and very well equipped! Huge free standing bath, rainfall shower, massive flatscreen and bespoke speakers, you can plug your ipod/phone into the aux input and play music in the bathroom or the bedroom too!...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
