Great hotel. The staff was very nice. Bed was very comfortable. Good Wifi connection. The thermostat was a bit noisy. We did not have power outlets at the bedside which was a bit of an inconvenience. Overall a great stay!

The hotel is walking distance from Haymarket, where the bus form the airport stops, there is the metro station and downtown is walking distance. Personnel was kind and professional. The furnitures, both in the hall and in the room, are quite old. The room was large, although with again very old furnitures, especially in the bathroom. For example, the hairdryer...

We came into the Haymarket Station. This hotel was just several blocks from the station. The rooms were good sized and clean. We stayed four nights. It is a steady 20 minute walk to Waverly Station. The hotel has just gotten new owners and is scheduled for major renovation in the next several weeks. We did not eat in the...

Nice place to visit. Comfortable and clean rooms. Only let down was the poor breakfast selection. Staff however were extremely helpful with all tourist info we needed. Would definitely stay there again as it is centrally located just 2 minutes from Edinburgh Waverley train station

We stayed in Leonardo for 4 nights and it was well worth the price. The hotel is just 5 mins walk from the Haymarket railway station (which is connected to the Edinburgh Airport by tram and buses-20 mins). -The rooms are big and clean. They provide with tea/coffee facilities and also a good set of TV channels. The rooms are...

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a lovely size and bathroom was presentable and clean. Had all that we needed included. We were close to City centre, approximately 15 minute walk. Also close to transport connections. For a city break would recommend this hotel as prices were reasonable.

My room was clean, well aired with a comfortable bed and spotless linen. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. I was particularly impressed by a Breakfast Waiter. I would definitely stay there again.

The staff is really helpful and kind. The rooms are fair, though couple of information was missing/our attention was not raised to it (equipment of the room, type of socket, the magnetic card's sensitivity to our phones). The breakfast was good and diverse and the location is perfect if you want to walk around/near the city center.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
