Clean rooms with en suite, comfortable bed. Great breakfast included in the price with plenty of choice and generous portions to set you up for the day. Staff attentive without being in your face , friendly and thoughtful. Would recommend. Decor is a bit tired, but that didn't detract in any way. Also, its just around the corner form Waverley...

Nice building in a cul-de-sac (with steps to front door), pleasant room, reasonable breakfast, very enthusiastic proprietor. Very short walk to Haymarket train, tram and bus connections - but no good place to park a car.

The location is ideal. It's within a short walk of the train station and the tram. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. There are several shortcomings however. First, if one has a car, there's no nearby parking. Street parking has limited hours and nearby public parking is expensive. Grosvenor Gardens has made arrangements with a site about a 10...

We had a large family room (as we are 5), with high ceilings and beautiful original details. This place was clean beyond believe - I have never seen a cleaner hotel/apartment or guestroom. Breakfast was served to us in an splendid and very correct way. We stayed several nights and all in all, this was the best place we stayed...

Lovely, very spacious room on ground floor. Very friendly, helpful family. Good breakfast, located just a 20 minute walk to castle and city center. Parking may be minor problem but available in school when not in term time.

I booked via their website a twin room with ensuite for 3 nights. I also emailed the hotel and asked if we could drop our luggage early as our flight gets into Edinburgh early and they confirmed it would be OK. Got all confirmation emails paid deposit etc then got another email after midnight saying they didn't have the twin...

First time to Edinburgh and was quite happy with my stay. I had a 5 day tour inbetween my stay and they happily stored luggage for me and had it waiting in my room upon my return. I was in a downstairs room the first two nights which was a nice large room. On my return I was in an...

We stood two nights at Grosvenor Gardens. The hotel is absolutely perfect for an Edinburgh-visit. Close to the Airlink-stop at Haymarket, but so quiet that we meant to sleep in the country-site. The manager was very kind and wait for our arrive at half past twelve at night. The breakfast is very good and we got all what we expect...

We stayed at the Grosvenor Garden Hotel for 2 nights in a long week-end in May 2016 with my wife and daughter. The hotel is located very close to the Haymarket rail station and to the St Mary Cathedral (worth a visit!!) and within a peaceful, green residential area. We had a spatious and luminous room at the ground floor...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
