We loved our stay. We were at the B+B for 6 days and it felt like home only better. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, a great size bathroom, and the view. The view was superb. Breakfast was good every morning, great selection. The building itself is beautiful, spend some time in the library if you stay here....

Thank you very much for taking time to review. Great to enjoy 6 nights in Edinburgh - plenty of time to really get into the groove of the city! All the B+B Collection properties boast super lounges - this differs from a lot of traditional B+B's and is really appreciated by guests. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and look...

We loved our stay. We got upgraded to a castle view room on arrival. Chap at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Room was thoroughly clean and well decorated. Very comfy bed. Lovely views from the room. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was absolutely spot on. Great selection of continental breakfast and perfectly sized...

Tidy well kept rooms, we were lucky to have a view of Edinburgh Castle, very helpful staff. In particular nice to stay at a place that has a separate library room and a small bar. The food and coffee for breakfast also were plentiful and tasty. 😄

We have stayed in many places in different cities and this was the best yet. For the price paid I did not expect this level of service, comfort and attention to detail. We stayed in a family suite for the first two nights, needed to stay in Edinburgh for a third night and were moved to a double room. I...

I can not recommend this B+B more highly. I stayed with friends here on either side of a wonderful trip through Scotland. The accommodation is situated in the New Town of Central Edinburgh with its beautiful Georgian buildings. Very close to bars and other amenities (can recommend Johnson's dry cleaners on the corner of Drumsheugh and Queensferry Rd - the...

Thanks you for sharing your great tips and feedback. It is possible to come and stay at B+B Edinburgh and not even venture in to the main city - our corner of town boasts super bars, boutiques and eateries and is truly relaxing in ambience. My wife and I spent nine nights in this hotel during the Church of Scotland General Assembly in May and found the staff welcoming, our room (Number 1) very comfortable, and the situation ideal for travel around the city. We were there on business so (sadly!) did not have much time to enjoy the bar and beautiful library - though...

Stayed their last week, two rooms, as I was traveling with son, his wife and their daughter. The accommodations far exceeded our expectations. Clean, comfortable...great shower. I had view to the rear overlooking the river. FANTASTIC. Son and his family had a room with an alcove that held a hideabed for their daughter. Perfect setup for a family. The staff...

Thank you for reviewing B+B Edinburgh. I recently stayed in this hotel, and only have praise for its comfort and style. The decor is very funky and modern, but with a traditional and classic twist. We stayed for 3 nights over Easter and this is one of the best places of its type I have ever stayed in. The building dates back over 150 years and has been transformed to its former glory. Staying in Stockbridge & Dean Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s most desirable, though many bohemian touches have fallen away as its residents have matured and the area has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but mostly residents display refined tastes in basement bistros, gastropubs, coffee and antique shops, boutiques and delis and at the Sunday farmers' market. A pleasant ten-minute walk away, along a leafy riverside path beside the gurgling Water of Leith, lies Dean Village. This sleepy neighborhood of medieval half-timbered houses still retains much of the village feel it had when watermills plied their trade here. Beyond, the wooded riverside path feels even more remote as it climbs to the sculpture gardens of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
