Warm cosy room we were in room 1, was a bit noisy when other guests arrived and bathroom very small but functional Staff were helpful and very friendly. They were efficient. We stayed here for 2 nights on the lower ground floor. We asked for a room with wifi but cannot connect to the wifi on the lower ground and my phone was permanently on no service whilst in the room. The room was relatively big, we had a double bed and a single bed. I have seen loads of people...

Great hotel. Food really good. As title of review says what more could you ask for. Travelled with National Holidays. Don't judge till you've tried yourself. 10-15 min walk to Princes Street and nice walks by Water of Leith.

Really disappointed with the breakfast. Not worth the money. Restaurant wasn't busy and staff looked lethargic. Room was great, no complaints there. Clean and warm, was what I expected. A bit out the way of the city centre.

Me and my Girlfriend stayed here over valentines for 4 nights, on arrival our first impressions were average. The hotel seemed relatively clean as a whole. After checking in, we made our way to the 5th floor to find the lift had no light inside. We got in to our room and checked it over. Overall, the room was clean...

No ventilator in the room made everithing dump! Room is average . The best thing was that it is quiet and I had a good sleep. Breakfast was very nice. Too bad the cleaners are nicer than the receptionists who should wellcome you properly.

Bedroom spotless and bed comfy. 15 min walk to shops and bars. Hotel clean and tidy and staff were polite. Only problem was the rubbish tiny wall heater in the bedroom although turned up full did not warm the room at all an I had to use my coat during the night. The mature gentleman in the room next door...

Dirty, old, unsanitary, noisy, basic, shower curtain and water boiler have heavy molds. Bed sheets and towels are wrinkle and dirty and old. Worse than hostels and B&B. I would give a negative if I could.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
