Just returned from I'm another trip to Edinburgh (love this city) as my husband was doing the Edinburgh Great Run. We usually stay in a Premier and stayed in a different one this time. Have to say this one is in a superb location, all the usual Premier stuff, rooms spacious, beds soooo comfy, bath and shower in bathroom. We...

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The location couldn't be better on Princes Streer and across from the Edinburgh castle. Rooms are comfortable, well appointed and quiet for a good night's sleep. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is fantastic. Recommended!

Proved to be well run efficient establishment with helpful friendly staff. All in all most enjoyable experience. Hotel is brief stroll from Waverley Railway station and ideally sited for access to public transport etc Has excellent views of Castle. Restaurant provides good buffet style breakfast had one evening meal when service was poor. Well worth considering for city break as...

Being a premier inn, there is not much to review...as the standard offered is pretty uniform! However, this hotel is well located, ideal for exploring the city and relatively comfortable. Then bed was a double and not king, and the pillows were very flat, and bathroom mirror and floor not cleaned, other than that standard premier inn.

Booked this at short notice. Turns out great location looking right at the castle over breakfast. Superb value for money, family friendly and clean. Very quiet at night. Tram for airport passes the door and stop is 5 minutes walk. All in all great.

This is a Premier Inn so you know what to expect, ie clean, comfortable bed and great value for money. However, this is not a standard Premier Inn! The hotel is located directly opposite Edinburgh Castle and if you are lucky you will get a Castle view room. WOW! Food is also very good and you won't beat their meal...

We had a family room with our 2 children; it was clean, quiet and the breakfast was excellent. Staff looked to cope really well with a very busy Easter-time. Bathroom was clean. Beds were really comfortable (although our eldest child said the put up sofa bed was a bit less comfortable than our double bed).

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
