Pros: Great location, good value for money with. Clean and comfortable room. Cons: Only one lift working while we were there, not a huge problem just meant we had to wait sometimes. All in all would definitely return to this hotel

Comfortable nights sleep up on the 7th floor with great views to Calton Hill Very convenient city centre location although the street access is a somewhat scruffy back lane often with large delivery vehicles unloading.

We booked a double room for 2 nights and I can't really think of anything negative about our experience here. 1. Location - The hotel is about 4 minutes from the coach station and seconds away from everything else: a McDonalds, perfect for breakfast; KFC; various stores; the great Princes Street and even a Local Sainsburys. 2. Room - We...

Great location with outstanding customer service. Our family room was cold due to being large and spacious but heater was near toilet so didn't hear room enough in the cold Scottish weather. Told staff and it was deal with asap. Moved to a smaller family room which was still large enough but a lot warmer.

Fantastic stay at this hotel which is right in the middle of the city centre. It's so easy to find and is perfect for a city break. Check in was simple and friendly and all staff were extremely helpful and approachable. The stand out element was the view from our room which was spectacular and looked out towards Arthur's Seat...

Perfect location, just a stones throw from waverly station and easy to find even if your sense of direction is terrible like mine! The staff were friendly enough. The rooms were ok, clean and functional but our twin room beds were VERY narrow, which was a big thumbs down. We were at the front of the building facing the main...

Brilliant little find in the heart of Edinburgh so close to the bustle of the Xmas market yet tucked away in a little oasis of calm. Fab rooms and very comfortable beds with such helpful and friendly staff.

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
