This hotel is modern and has nice facilities however the service and rooms are dreadful. We checked in to out room and my medication needed to be kept in a fridge. As soon as I got to the fridge it was broken. They took 2 days to get the fridge fixed. Also we went out for one day to have...

My husband and I returned to Novotel Edinburgh Centre with our two daughters to celebrate our birthdays . We had done this 2 years ago and had a lovely experience and wanted the same again. The swimming pool is a good size and so warm -with a small jacuzzi attached to it - it was one of the key reasons...

I came here with my daughter for her 13th birthday, first impressions were excellent, the staff were very accommodating, we got an early check in (12pm instead of 2pm) and also a late checkout the following day of 3pm. They gave us a map of the City to help us find various places we were looking for and marked the...

Stayed here for the second time just after the new year, was not as good as our first stay. No complaints about the room, room was lovely! Pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi all brilliant (the main reason we went back) Quite simply the staff didn't really cut it, upon check in the lady whom was sorting us out seemed...

This hotel is clean modern and well located. Staff were helpful and went out of their way to order taxis and to provide colleagues with food appropriate to their allergies. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet. Wi fi is very good. Lovely.

Our time at Novotel was absolutely lovely. The staff were all very nice, especially David in the restaurant, who always gave us a very warm welcome and made our mornings special. The hotel rooms are nice and spacious and it's a good idea to have a separate toilet and shower/bathroom. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were very nice and were...

Location is great, everything was within reach of an average 15min walk. Will definitely consider this place my next visit! The only downside is the limited parking if you are driving. Alternative carpark is offered at a lower rate but still rather inconvenient.

I recently stayed for one night at Novotel, and had a wonderful stay. I was lucky enough to be the "Guest of the Day" and received an upgrade to an Executive Room (probably slightly larger than normal rooms). There was a chocolate brownie waiting for me and a hand written card from the manager wishing me a pleasant stay (A+...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
