I took a group of Scouts to Edinburgh for an event and stayed 2 nights here. My first impressions were; organised, clean, functional, friendly. These impressions were warranted. I have never stayed in a private hostel before and I can't think that they're all like this. Very good facilities and a fabulous location, right on the beach.

The Globetrotter Inn was very lovely. It sits on the Firth of Forth and is outside of the city, which is a big plus for my husband and myself. We had a double room with ensuite. Our room had a dresser, 2 night stands, a tv plus an electric tea kettle with tea, coffee, creamer and sugar. We stayed here...

We stayed at the hostel on our recent trip to Edinburgh and were greeted there by the lovely staff at the reception desk. We found them to be very helpful. We booked into a dorm room which we found to be spacious and clean. Each person is provided with their own locker and each bed has it's own individual curtain,...

Situated shore front by Firth of Forth, it's worth the distance from Edinburgh city centre. Spacious dorm room with security locker provided as well as headlight and privacy curtains. Bit of inconvenience of shuttle service only runs until 2300 from Waterloo Place; and no power sockets in room make camera or mobile charging a bit challenging. Had to get it...

We chose to stay at Globetrotter Inn Edinburgh because of a previous positive experience in London...quite a disappointment! Although of fair value, the hostel almost has an atmosphere of a prison. We stayed there for 3 nights and some of the girls felt so uncomfortable that they slept with their lights on. The place is huge, a bit run-down, but...

I have to travel to Edinburgh every few weeks with work, and I keep on coming back here. I have tried out quite a few of the myriad of hostels in Edinburgh and this is by far the most pleasant to stay in so far. You are provided with clean sheets on arrival, the shared dorms are reasonable in size...

I stayed in a 4 person room with private bathroom which was very clean, spacious and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hostel as it is great value for money. Although it's not in a central location it doesn't matter much because the shuttle bus runs constantly throughout the day.

Great hostel, pretty cheap per night, good beds that each have their own little space with a curtain etc in the dorms so can be quite private even in a shared dorm and you have your own lock-up in the room. Down to the location, well the surroundings are great! Right by the sea, a lot of grass and trees...
