Stayed here for 2 nights and found it exceptional value for money. Having lived in Edinburgh for several years I know how expensive it can be! Check in was stated as 3pm so we decided to leave our luggage at reception (a 3 minute walk away), however the receptionist contacted the housekeeper and our room was ready so we were...

Great location for walking the city. 1 minute to Haymarket, 5 minutes to Strawmarket and 10 minutes to High Street. What more could you ask for? Yes, the apartment is a block from the Registration office, but if you plan it , you can leave your luggage at the doorway with your travelling partner and then walk about a block...

Apartment is a 5 minute walk from office and parking and 10 minutes from Royal Mile. Able to walk back from tattoo at 1am safely, close to restaurants, grocery store etc. Comfortable bed, quiet location at back and first floor. Washer/dryer handy after a week on move. Well equipped. Great value when compared to everything else in Edinburgh during August.

The main reception and parking is 700-800 meters away, steep narrow stairs to 4th floor, no elevator. Everything is old. If you happen to have app facing street - there is pub just opposite and it is pretty noisy till around 1 am.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. I was sorry to read your comments, Reception is located at 121 Grove Street , a 3 minute walk from the apartments and this information along with there being no lift is clearly detailed on the site you booked via. This site also has a photo gallery in order...

The apartments are in a good location and well equipped. The street is quite busy and noisy which was a small problem as we had the windows open due to the warm weather. The parking and check-in is all based on grove street which is 100 metres away. The staff were friendly. The apartment was very clean and cleaning staff...

We've spent three nights at the fountaincourt morrison apartments. It feels more like a dorm than an aparthotel, but the place is clean and safe. The main entrance to the building and corridor are rundown and dirty, but things improve in the apartment. The appliances work well, but be warned - there is no coffee maker!! A kettle and instant...

I spent a week staying in this apartment while at a conference and was very happy with it. Yes, the building isn't brand new and the other things people have written about the reception and lack of lifts are true, but the apartment was clean, well-serviced and spacious (apart from the bedroom which was a little cramped). The staff are...

Yes, you do have to walk a couple blocks to the reception to get your keys. And, NO, there is no lift so do not book if climbing stairs is a problem. That being said, my husband and I were utterly delighted with the accommodation, which was spacious, clean, warm (heaters worked well), well-serviced, and had every amenity we could...

Although the Morrison branch is close to the station, one needs to go over to another branch further away to check in with a receptionist who was neither welcoming, nor courteous. We regretted our decision to book there the moment we stepped into the run-down building with its dirty staircases, corridors and smelly rooms! It was a miserable experience.

Thank you for your review of your recent stay which I was surprised to receive having had no adverse comments during your 3 night stay. Your comments also seem contrary to other recent reviews. Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
