Close to the centre. Its a Premier Inn so you know what you get. Breakfast is tasty snd plentiful. We were stuffed it was so good. They ran out of some beers; in February. Come on order the right amount. A little noisy in the mornings with bin wagons etc but we will use it again when in Edinburgh.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly professional staff. Our room on the third floor was clean and very comfortable. This hotel gave us an ideal base to explore Edinburgh and I especially appreciated that there was a reasonably priced underground car park only minutes away. We would stay here again!

The hotel is in a Great location to walk into the centre Staff are very friendly and very helpful. They were always on hand if you needed them and nothing was too much trouble from showing us the quickest routes or ordering us a taxi.

The hotel is in a great central location, just a few minutes walk from Lothian Road and the High Street. The reception staff are friendly, though it does feel a bit like a sauna both there and in the bar. We were on the 5th floor and had a fantastic view over the rooftops. The room was spacious and spotless,...

Stayed here for 3 nights last month. We were firstly put in a room on the 2nd floor and the windows wouldn't close fully so it was cold and draughty. The heating in the rooms consists of a small electric heater on one wall which is woefully inadequate. The room overlooked a busy road junction and due to the town...

Stayed here originally for 2 nights but ended up 3 as train was cancelled. Very good location couple mins walk from the Haymarket. Ideally situated just out of the main drag but convenient for any of the wonderful tourist attractions, bars and restaurants. As always a good standard of room and excellent customer service. On site restaurant serves lovely food...

Stayed he recently with my wife and 1 year old child. Very good hotel and staff. Breakfast was well worth the money too. Would have no hesitation coming back. Only 20 minute walk from station and a few mins away from the grassmarket.

A genuinely friendly greeting from the girls in reception was great and the security in accessing the lift only if you have a keycard is very reassuring. We were located on the top floor at the end of a corridor and the view from the window was splendid across the rooftops and the distant mountains ( hills or munroes?). The...

Stayed here for the second time at the weekend and was very happy we came back here. Ideally placed for the Grass market and only 15 minutes walk from Princess Street. This time we had a room on the top floor and the view over the snow topped hills was amazing. We had a large room which was great as...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
