I feel I must comment on this guest house. I have been a'' frequent flier'' here now for a number of years. As I have family local, I need somewhere I can depend on to stay, when after having traveled 250 miles, the last thing you want are poor facilities. In all this time there has never been a need...

We recently returned from a two night stay at Abercorn. I booked the accommodation after reading the positive reviews on tripadvisor and was not disappointed. It is a beautiful house in a great location. We enjoyed a day on the nearby beach and an evening stroll to local restaurants. Angela is an excellent host, nothing was too much trouble. This...

We, a couple of 2 from the Netherlands, stayed 2 nights in the Abercorn in august 2008. A lovely old stylish house surrounded by a nice garden. We had a spacious room with very good comfort and were received with great hospitality by Angela and her husband. We particularly appreciated the location of the house, easy to find and with...

In our recent visit to Edinburgh my wife and I stayed at this fantastic Guest House for two nights. Angela and Her Husband are most welcoming and run this beautiful house, which is located only two minutes from a lovely clean beach and a 15 minutes Bus ride from the town center. Just returned after 2 days at this wonderful hotel. We wanted somewhere out of the centre of Edinburgh (due to the Edinburgh Tattoo etc) and found the Abercorn fitted all our requirements . Angela and her father made us very welcome and the breakfast was superb. The house itself is over 150 years old and retains all its charm and...

My husband and I spent two nights, 10th and 11th August, at the Abercorn Guest House. Angela, the owner, gave us a very warm welcome and we felt at home straight away. Our room was immaculate, comfortable and very stylish. There were two individual bottles of wine in the room, red and white, and when she found out that we...

It was a long awaited first trip to Scotland for me and staying at Abercorn House was absolutely one of the highlights. Steps from the sea and buses into Edinburgh plus returning at night to a beautiful, welcoming bed and breakfast. Who could ask for more? Plus great local dining in Portobello area. My mother and I both loved it!...
