Wonderful place. Cosy, warm, welcoming and a real treat to have the option of well cooked vegan food.Proper bed with cotton bedding and Ethical toiletries instead of wasteful chemically smelling sachets of useless preparations! Above all very friendly and homely. would definitely use this as a future place to stay when visiting Edinburgh

We had a perfect stay at the B&B.. It was clean, very nice rooms. The breakfast was delicious. The landlady was very nice and helpful and sweet. She recommended gardens and other things to do for us. It was walking distant to the centre.

The Claymore is a perfect, relaxing place to spend time while visiting Edinburgh. Cathy’s delicious breakfasts, which have many tasty vegan options, definitely helped dispel our jet lag. We probably tried all of the vegan options on the menu, from the polenta to the tattie scone to the porridge and the cooked tomatoes and potatoes and the delicious soya yoghurts...

We loved our stay at Claymore Vegetarain Guest House! It was our favorite of all the places we stayed on our recent 3 week trip. We spent 7 nights there. Cathy was so sweet and accommodating!!! Some mornings we had to leave early to catch a tour and therefore miss breakfast, so she prepared us something to take with us....

We stayed here for 3 nights. Cathy, our host was very welcoming and gave helpful advice about places we were planning to go. Our room was very clean, comfortable and well furnished, with 2 easy chairs and a table as well as plenty of space to store clothes etc. The house has a charming and relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent...

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights. The host was lovely and welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. She was very accommodating to my friend as well who had allergies and made sure she checked everything was okay with the breakfasts and remembered what we liked and didn't like the next morning. She was also always...

We have just returned home following our 3rd visit to Claymore and we will certainly be visiting again (our daughter is a student in Edinburgh). Cathy is so friendly and welcoming. A variety of teas and coffees are available in the rooms and fresh milk provided.Often rather tempting snacks are placed in the mugs in the bedrooms too! Breakfasts are...

Can't fault our stay. Rooms & food were excellent. Fantastic friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Close enough to city centre for fringe. Great hosts with good knowledge of Edinburgh. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay again next time in Edinburgh. In fact we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

While Cathy, the owner, was attentive and helpful, cannot recommend the B&B. As soon as you enter the place, you are hit by the smell of a smoker. The smell is strong in the entryway and hallway, thought thankfully not in the guest room or breakfast room. The decor of the place looks old and tired. The room was not...

Just come back from such a lovely stay at Claymore. Our room was great, with a super comfy bed, and Cathy is an excellent host. Such a treat to have lots of vegan options at breakfast. Don't forget to try the tattie scones!

We are a 10-15 minute walk to Princes Street. We offer three things to our guests - enjoyable accommodation, warm and friendly atmosphere and good food and we do it with pleasure. Although our food is vegetarian and vegan, we have had many meat eating guests over the years and most of them have gone home happy!
