The Tigerlily Hotel garners praise for its attentive service and stylish decor that contribute to a luxurious and sometimes romantic ambiance. While the hotel's central location and comfortable, modern rooms with great views are a hit among guests, there are mixed feelings regarding value, with some criticism aimed at room and dining costs despite reasonable minibar prices. Amenities are generally well-received, but minor maintenance issues are noted. The hotel's cleanliness is lauded, although more thorough cleaning of shared spaces is suggested by some reviewers.

I’ve visited Tigerlily for drinks and food before but this was my first time staying in the hotel. It was exceptional. We checked in with Kate at reception who was so lovely and gave us all the information we needed . She couldn’t have been more welcoming. She also arranged to store our luggage when we checked out the next morning, as we were not leaving Edinburgh until later. Our room was on the 3rd floor, extremely spacious, beautifully appointed, very comfortable bed and the bathroom was one of the most generous I’ve stayed in. The mini bar was so well stocked and all the little extras were welcome. A stand out for me was the fresh milk for the coffee machine . Rarely do you get this and it really does make a difference. I would struggle to want to stay anywhere else again. We had arranged to have an early dinner in the restaurant prior to attending the playhouse, Kelsey was very attentive and we were seated in Jens section, who was amazing as always. Breakfast the next morning was just what we needed, fresh, plentiful and attentive staff again (Katie, the manager, checking on us). Thanks Tigerlily, I’ll be back soon.

A pre Christmas break at this beautiful hotel was so very special. The hotel is beautifully decorated both inside and out, making you feel instantly glamorous as you step into this magical Christmas Wonderland.

All of staff are so friendly and make you feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They go out of their way to make sure that you have a perfect break.

Our room (23) was very spacious. Good selection of teas and coffees with bottled water and shortbread left each day. Big soft fluffy towels and robes and beautiful White Company toiletries. Absolutely love the pink ghd hairdryer and straighteners.

Good choice of wine and amazing selection of cocktails in the bar. With the special Christmas cocktails adding a sparkle to the evening.

We chose to have breakfast at the hotel. What a way to start the day. Great selection beautifully cooked and presented. Endless supply of freshly squeezed juice, toast, tea and coffee all served at your table. They also serve breakfast until 12 which is perfect if you have had a late evening out.

Other little touches that make this a perfect place to stay, you can leave your bags before check in time (3pm) and they are waiting for you in your room. Also really happy for you to leave you bags after check out (11am). Also returning customers get a 15% discount on future stays (with no time limit). Can’t think of a better reason to return again soon.

Overall a perfect place to stay in Edinburgh

We had an amazing stay at Tigerlily to celebrate my wife’s birthday. From the moment we arrived we were treated so well.

I had contacted a few days earlier to ask about paying for an upgrade as we were heading over from Belfast to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Got a prompt reply letting me know it could be paid for at check in and would be fine to do. When we arrived I found we had been automatically upgraded to the Georgian Suite- what a room!!! We couldn’t believe how lucky we were. This may be a small gesture to some but for us and for my wife it made the weekend truly memorable. The room was bigger than the ground floor of our actual house and we felt very well looked after.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us- central with easy access to the tram when arriving from the airport, lively and high street shopping on the doorstep. 5 minute walk to Princes street for buses etc and a great place to be based.

The hotel itself had a lovely bar and there was a good selection of restaurants along George street.

Overall, we had a fantastic weekend stay. We can only see this hotel becoming more and more popular and whilst we may not make it into the same suite anytime soon, we know we will be made to feel just as special. Thank you to all the team at Tigerlily!

The location is perfect and looks amazing but if you want a quiet night's sleep you need to stay out till at least 1am as the music from downstairs travels up to all rooms. Rooms are well stocked ghd hairdryers and coffee machine complimentary bathroom supplies all good quality. The biggest let down is there isn't a designated area in the bar for residents so when returning of an evening it was so packed you couldn't sit or even stand anywhere to get a drink.

Brilliant stay and lovely room. It was a bit busy at night time with all the Christmas parties but we’d a junior suite which had loads of room for the kids. Breakfast was also fantastic. One thing which I’d flag was we couldn’t get the Saturday night as it was booked up months in advance. Location is very central and ice skating was literally outside the front door.

Nice hotel, good location. Down side, the restaurant, poor food. Would possibly stay here again but wouldn't dine here. Also, the downstairs toilets from the restaurant area could do with a proper clean, scented candles don't cut it and shampoo in the hand-wash holders?. No attention to detail by whoever is overseeing these areas.

My husband and I stayed here on Tues 12th of March for his birthday.
The reception staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful.
Our room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. The air con was really loud, but we needed it on as the room was very warm.
Breakfast in the morning - service was great, though the bacon was very overdone, and the toast was merely warmed bread. Everything else was nice enough.

Hi Allimcff0, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, We take all feedback onboard, positive and negative. We are always striving to improve out service and customer experience. I'm very dissappointed to hear there was an issue with your aircon. I have already called and engineer to make sure everything is working as it should be. We passed on your feedback regarding the food during breakfast. Again this will help us improve our service and your experience. Delighted to hear the service and room was great. I do hope to see you again very soon. Thanks, Evan

Stayed here for a night with my partner. Hotel is stunning decor is quirky throughout. Staff friendly and attentive. Our room on the 1st floor was large with a comfy king bed, mini bar, TV etc. Bathroom was good size with toiletries and personal touch of tigerlily slippers, robes and face cloths. Power shower had big walk in entry.

Negatives were no seating in the lounge areas due to private functions. The functions didn't close until 3am, we know this as we heard the music in our room until then and somehow it got louder into the small hours. For this reason we wouldn't go back due to lack of sleep! Still a gorgeous hotel with ambience and attention to detail second to none.

Very mixed we are currently staying at the hotel, the hotel itself is lovely the rooms are spacious and they come well stocked, however breakfast on the first morning was a challenge had the menu taken from us before we’d ordered, when our food came we had to go in search of cutlery and condiments then the toast arrived when we’d finished eating! Forgot about it till it arrived.
Second day the room hadn’t been made up so had to go in search of fresh water and clean towels they only brought bath towels no hand towels - a lot of money for a very poor standard. We know it fringe season but that should be no excuse for lack of professionalism and poor service.

We had booked an evening meal and stay with breakfast to celebrate my birthday and oh my goodness, it went beyond my expectations. From being greeted warmly on first arrival in the door to the departure in the morning it was just a bubble of luxury. The staff were wonderful. Lauren on hotel reception was wonderfully cheerful. She happily moved our dinner reservation to allow us time to freshen up after a hot afternoon in the city. We had booked a ‘luxury King room’ but were allocated a Georgian Mini Suite. However, if this was an upgrade they were very low key, dignified about it as it wasn’t mentioned. However, Lauren did present us with a cute greetings card containing two complimentary cocktail vouchers to celebrate. She was present through our whole stay and never lost her convivial nature.

At Dinner, Jen was our server and couldn’t have been more attentive. She also brought a complimentary glass of fizz and there was another greeting card on the table wishing me a happy birthday. The food was divine!! We had two dishes which we shared for starter: Brie and Focaccia. Both delicious. Then our mains were Shin Beef and Thai Green Curry. Ingredients were melt in the mouth and incredibly fresh.

The room was extremely comfortable. Minor point for improvement (very minor) would be to have a slightly bigger mug option in the room for tea/hot chocolate and a price list for the mini bar (we looked it up online and it was reasonable. This was exciting as we never felt we could indulge on a mini bar spend before, not that we’d experienced many rooms with them insitu before).

Breakfast was great - eggs Benedict for me and a full Scottish for hubby. Again fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection. Our server was Katherine - who had great energy and positivity and wanted to make it perfect for us- even moving the tomato off my husband’s plate to mine because she knew I wanted to pinch it. Katherine also brought me a mimosa

There is no buffet. Our room rate included breakfast and you can order whatever you want off the menu. It was fabulous, and they were very willing to customize.
