All of staff are so friendly and make you feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They go out of their way to make sure that you have a perfect break.
Our room (23) was very spacious. Good selection of teas and coffees with bottled water and shortbread left each day. Big soft fluffy towels and robes and beautiful White Company toiletries. Absolutely love the pink ghd hairdryer and straighteners.
Good choice of wine and amazing selection of cocktails in the bar. With the special Christmas cocktails adding a sparkle to the evening.
We chose to have breakfast at the hotel. What a way to start the day. Great selection beautifully cooked and presented. Endless supply of freshly squeezed juice, toast, tea and coffee all served at your table. They also serve breakfast until 12 which is perfect if you have had a late evening out.
Other little touches that make this a perfect place to stay, you can leave your bags before check in time (3pm) and they are waiting for you in your room. Also really happy for you to leave you bags after check out (11am). Also returning customers get a 15% discount on future stays (with no time limit). Can’t think of a better reason to return again soon.
Overall a perfect place to stay in Edinburgh
I had contacted a few days earlier to ask about paying for an upgrade as we were heading over from Belfast to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Got a prompt reply letting me know it could be paid for at check in and would be fine to do. When we arrived I found we had been automatically upgraded to the Georgian Suite- what a room!!! We couldn’t believe how lucky we were. This may be a small gesture to some but for us and for my wife it made the weekend truly memorable. The room was bigger than the ground floor of our actual house and we felt very well looked after.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us- central with easy access to the tram when arriving from the airport, lively and high street shopping on the doorstep. 5 minute walk to Princes street for buses etc and a great place to be based.
The hotel itself had a lovely bar and there was a good selection of restaurants along George street.
Overall, we had a fantastic weekend stay. We can only see this hotel becoming more and more popular and whilst we may not make it into the same suite anytime soon, we know we will be made to feel just as special. Thank you to all the team at Tigerlily!
The reception staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful.
Our room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. The air con was really loud, but we needed it on as the room was very warm.
Breakfast in the morning - service was great, though the bacon was very overdone, and the toast was merely warmed bread. Everything else was nice enough.

Negatives were no seating in the lounge areas due to private functions. The functions didn't close until 3am, we know this as we heard the music in our room until then and somehow it got louder into the small hours. For this reason we wouldn't go back due to lack of sleep! Still a gorgeous hotel with ambience and attention to detail second to none.
Second day the room hadn’t been made up so had to go in search of fresh water and clean towels they only brought bath towels no hand towels - a lot of money for a very poor standard. We know it fringe season but that should be no excuse for lack of professionalism and poor service.

At Dinner, Jen was our server and couldn’t have been more attentive. She also brought a complimentary glass of fizz and there was another greeting card on the table wishing me a happy birthday. The food was divine!! We had two dishes which we shared for starter: Brie and Focaccia. Both delicious. Then our mains were Shin Beef and Thai Green Curry. Ingredients were melt in the mouth and incredibly fresh.
The room was extremely comfortable. Minor point for improvement (very minor) would be to have a slightly bigger mug option in the room for tea/hot chocolate and a price list for the mini bar (we looked it up online and it was reasonable. This was exciting as we never felt we could indulge on a mini bar spend before, not that we’d experienced many rooms with them insitu before).
Breakfast was great - eggs Benedict for me and a full Scottish for hubby. Again fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection. Our server was Katherine - who had great energy and positivity and wanted to make it perfect for us- even moving the tomato off my husband’s plate to mine because she knew I wanted to pinch it. Katherine also brought me a mimosa
