The rooms are large and spacious, the breakfast is top-notch with lots of great tasty options, the common areas are cozy. The wifi is free though the signal was a little weak in our room. There is room service every day, and they have really soft towels!

I had a very warm welcome and an even warmer goodbye. Richard explained me how to get to the centre, and the "breakfast configuration" offer is great. I left early, so I got a lunch pack from the hotel, I liked that! Rooms are clean and cosy. Location is a little off from the main area, trip to airport is...

Lovely guest house. Very friendly people. Clean but tired. A new mattress is needed in room 8 and shower was terrible, no power. Wonderful breakfast which you could mix and match and very prompt service. Cobwebs in room but was clean apart from that.

Guest House located in a quiet neighborhood. Good public transport connections though walking to the city centre is also possible. Very friendly and helpful owners. Big plus is the Holyrood Park close to the guest house.

I stayed here recently as I needed to be in Edinburgh for a couple of days and didn't want to travel back and forth. The guest house is about 15 minutes by bus into the centre of the City and the bus stop is just a minutes walk away. I parked my car at the guesthouse and just used my...

I had a warm and pleasant stay here. The breakfast here is surprisingly wonderful which allows you to mix and match the combination yourself and it's my motivation to wake up early everyday! Richard and Maki are very nice host and Richard is so helpful in helping me start my life in this city that he gave a lot of...

I stayed in the Dorstan past 2 nights while I was in Edinburgh for the Rugby. It's a 2 minute walk from the front door to the bus into town (30 or 33 Service). Takes about 15 minutes to get into the centre of town. Place was clean and well run. Nice room with a sink in the room and...

We recently stayed here for the weekend during the Six Nations rugby tournament. The communication with Richard before and during our visit was excellent - he is extremely friendly, welcoming, and offers helpful advice to visitors to Edinburgh. The rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommended!

My husband and I visited Edinburgh for a few days to celebrate his birthday. I chose the Dorstan because of its location, good reviews and price and I wasn't disappointed. We arrived early, ( a couple of hours before check in) and had planned to just park thee car and head into Edinburgh but Richard was there and checked us...
