Excellent room with comfortable beds, tea and coffee, safe and wifi access. Very warm welcome and friendly and helpful staff. Good choices at breakfast in a sociable setting. This accommodation is within walking distance of the city centre (25 mins roughly) also seems to be a good regular bus service

Charming B&B in town. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, large, comfy bed and well equipped. Traditional Scottish Breakfast was top and convivial, all seating around a large table, well done.

In an older row house in New Town. Offers free parking, nice room, comfortable bed, and great food. All the guests sit around a big dining room table in the kitchen for breakfast where the food is being prepared and the dishes washed. Very friendly, and approachable atmosphere. People with young families would be welcome here too. We came here...

Pros: Comfy beds (twin rooms available), spacious rooms, fridge and microwave in each room, nice staff, cleanliness Matter of taste: the kitchen as breakfast room. As described in previous reviews you sit together with other guests at one big table and you have to choose a time for breakfast prior the morning due to limited space. Afterwards, the kitchen smell...

From the owner/host (Edna) to the staff (Marta especially!) to the delicious full Scottish breakfast to the cute and comfortable rooms, this little guest house is a gem of a place. Our family of four were made to feel welcome and at home, the girls were delighted with their bunk bed, and the walk up to the Castle was an...

Spent 3 nights here in a triple room. While the room isn't huge it was more than adequate, the beds were comfy and there was also a fridge and safe in the room. Great base for visiting Edinburgh and lovely wee pubs and restaurants to sit at in the evening close by. Lovely cooked breakfast. Thank you Edna and Marta.

Pillars House could be a traditional and very good guest house. But it is more than that. But lets start with the basics, Pillars House is located in Leith in Edinburgh. 10 minutes walk from the cool places and very good restaurants down at the old harbour. And around 25 minutes walk up to the city center. The rooms are...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pillars house was originally built and owned by Crawford which were offices and a spirit store in the late 18th century. Most of the building still has a lot of its character left as you can see as you walk in through the main entrance. The courtyard where our free parking is situated was traditionally used as the delivery entrance where the horse and carts brought the whiskey from the highlands to be blended. ... more   less
