Really enjoyed our stay here, the room was clean, comfy and quiet, the en-suite bathroom was clean and nice, and had a good shower. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and breakfast was lovely. Would definitely stay again.

We arrived at this very welcoming B and B to find a fresh clean room and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them and words could not describe the breakfast. We certainly intend to stay there again whenever we are in Edinburgh. Also a bonus to have our own parking too, Bruce and Mavis Duncan

The owner and the house were quite nice, but the rooms were not well isolated and the other guest were very noisy. The rooms were in need of some renovating as well. The house is located on one of the main streets, so it's not a problem to get public transport to the center of town.

Said at pillars for just a couple of days but could have stayed forever. The best welcome imaginable. Fabulous rooms and breakfasts to die for. Couldn't fault it. A must stay for a visit to Edinburgh.

Excellent room with comfortable beds, tea and coffee, safe and wifi access. Very warm welcome and friendly and helpful staff. Good choices at breakfast in a sociable setting. This accommodation is within walking distance of the city centre (25 mins roughly) also seems to be a good regular bus service

Charming B&B in town. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, large, comfy bed and well equipped. Traditional Scottish Breakfast was top and convivial, all seating around a large table, well done.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pillars house was originally built and owned by Crawford which were offices and a spirit store in the late 18th century. Most of the building still has a lot of its character left as you can see as you walk in through the main entrance. The courtyard where our free parking is situated was traditionally used as the delivery entrance where the horse and carts brought the whiskey from the highlands to be blended. ... more   less
