Stayed there with my partner and family for my 30th birthday for 4 nights. Really enjoyed my stay, nice and clean rooms, very warm welcome by Filippo and Edna. Really close to Leith harbour where there are some great restaurants, not so far from the city centre. Safe car-park.

We stayed for 3 nights for the Rugby Magic Weekend using two rooms and found it everything we could possibly want. We were worried about the location as we had "googled" it and seen the roadworks for the new tram system but this did not make any difference as we simply used the entrance from the car park which Edna...

Well, to make a long story short...I am a 42 year-old California girl who really wanted to check out Scotland, so I finally did in April of this year. 4 Days before leaving (by myself), I fell down some stairs and hairline-fractured my ankle, but I went anyway. Hobbling from plane to plane was interesting, and my foot/ankle/lower-leg was the...

The overall stay in the pillars house was positive but what I would like to comment something that I didn't like it because I think that some feedback, even bad feedback, is better than any at all. The host drank a bit too much the night before and she was doing our breakfast with a big, big hangover. It was...

Very welcoming and friendly hosts, from the minute we arrived, until the minute we left. They were incredibly knowledgable about the locality and couldn't do enough for us. The room was comfortable and very clean, breakfast was beautiful, very tasty and very filling. We'll definately be staying here again the next time we are in Edinburgh.

Great hospitality - very clean and very kind and knowledgeable employees. Very fun people! They directed us to great sites and tours! It is just a short walk to a fabulous busing system that is easy to figure out while touring Edinburgh. I would definitely stay again and hope I do one day!

Stayed here for three nights in early January with my girlfriend, and have to say that this is a brilliant B&B. The rooms are lovely (and never cold) with en suite, fridge, big TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The B&B is conveniently located in Leith near the city centre (a short bus ride away or 25 minutes walk),...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pillars house was originally built and owned by Crawford which were offices and a spirit store in the late 18th century. Most of the building still has a lot of its character left as you can see as you walk in through the main entrance. The courtyard where our free parking is situated was traditionally used as the delivery entrance where the horse and carts brought the whiskey from the highlands to be blended. ... more   less
