The Premier Inn Falkirk Central Hotel receives praise for its friendly and attentive staff, although some guests have encountered slow service at the Beefeater restaurant. Its location is favored for its proximity to The Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel, especially for those with cars. While the rooms are recognized for their cleanliness and comfort, many reviewers feel they could benefit from modern updates.
Guests have expressed concerns about the value, pointing out that the hotel's amenities do not fully justify the cost. The atmosphere is deemed tasteful, yet the need for room refreshment is a recurring theme. Cleanliness is generally well-regarded, but there's a call for enhanced maintenance.

Hotel's Favourite
We arrived at night and had a very smooth check-in and were told that there was a 24hr reception! The room was very suitable for our party - clean, well-appointed & at just the right temperature. The only thing we needed more of was tea, sugar and milk (as there wasn’t enough in the room for a party of two).
The lady on duty at the Beefeater for our breakfast next morning was most efficient considering the cook had called in sick and she was able to make us a the cooked portion of our breakfast!

Well looked after during the current covid 19 restrictions. No daily housekeeping, however we called at reception and received extra Tea, Coffee and Milk whenever needed. We changed our Towels once by placing them in a bag (provided at reception) and leaving them outside our door, where they were replaced. Hand sanitiser everywhere including the Beefeater next door.
Not a lot of alternative places to eat locally - without a bit of a walk. We used the Beefeater next door and took advantage of their discount dinner package. We were only there 4 nights so that suited us fine.
Our room was comfortable and spacious if a little on the dark side, only having a small window overlooking trees.
The location was ideal for us. We visited Stirling and its jail, Battle of Bannockburn site. The Kelpies twice, day and night. Callandar house, Falkirk wheel, Culross village and Abby, Linlithgow palace. Be aware that most of these need advanced online booking and may not be fully open.

I stayed at the premier inn Falkirk central hotel on Friday and Saturday night, 11th - 13th of December 2020 as a leisure guest, as finally covid-19 restrictions have been eased to allow leisure stays once again in this area. I found all room facilities to be more than adequate, and in particular, I enjoyed the lovely hypnos bed, (best sleep ever!!!), and the bath / shower was excellent! My room was on the 2nd floor, room 203, to the rear of the hotel, facing the canal, which is a lovely view normally, when the weather is good! Tea/coffee facilities are plentiful, as extra sachets are available free of charge upon request. Storage is also plentiful, and the desk is a very useful facility. TV is available as standard, as is free wifi. There is a high speed wifi option which is chargeable, but I actually found the free version to be adequate for what I was doing. Room cleanliness was also excellent, and is available every day, if required. I dined at the Rosebank Beefeater restaurant next door, which was also excellent, I have written a separate review for this. All staff I met whilst at the hotel and the restaurant were friendly, helpful and professional, as I would expect from whitbread establishments, as I know them very well, as I previously worked with them in the past, and I have stayed with them on a few occasions whilst on leisure breaks. A special mention goes to Krystie, excellent service with a smile at the reception desk, great catching up again by the way, talking over old times! Keep up the great work you're doing!!!
To conclude my review, excellent all round service for the price paid, and looking forward to booking again in the future.
Best Regards to all, and have a lovely Christmas and a great 2021!
Andrew.

Booked with other friends, former work colleagues for a mini reunion. Excellent rates, sensible cancellation terms, standard Premier Inn fare. Clean rooms etc only let down by the quality of the free WiFi. Personally, I object to hotels charging extra for a quality WiFi, it is grasping and exploitative. There is no need, especially if you are charging competitive room rates and use a high quality WiFi as an enhancer of your brand and corporate reputation. The WiFi was so slow I could not even download my photos, let alone set up a FaceTime call. I was certainly not going to pay £5 a day for extra bandwidth. The staff were great, the restaurant food (dinner/breakfast) was good although one of my friends had a couple of gristly poor quality steaks (which he sent back). There was early morning noise from a road drill at 5.50am which was annoying. Good trip/stay, enhanced by decent accommodation and good friends.

I usually stay at the this particular premier inn at least 2-3 times in a year, to start with every time you go on reception there is never anyone there, twice i had to wait over 10 minutes even after pressing the buzzer, the key cards ahh (had to be replaced at least 3 times in a day, i booked 2 rooms and both rooms key cards stopped working every few hours, so imagine replacing key card 3 times for 2 bedrooms in a day for 3 days.
initially we were booked in for 2 rooms in the old building, my god as soon as we entered, that room looked like a dump yard, stinky dirty walls and carpet, ugly and dated furniture, tv from 19th century and old and filthy bathroom. we immediately asked to be moved and we were then put in the new building which was much better but then the card problem started and lasted the whole stay with no reception staff added the extra value that was not appreciated.
will avoid at all costs in future, standards have dropped significantly

Stayed at the Premier Inn Falkirk Central for two nights as part of a Northern England and Scotland road trip. You tend to believe that all Premiere Inns are much of a muchness but this one is a cut above, partially due to the location. The room itself was large, modern and clean with all of the facilities you would expect. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful and there was ample space in the large adjacent car park.
The location is a real key point The hotel is a few minutes walk to the main town centre, just over the road from smaller, convenience type shops and a very good restaurant (reviewed elsewhere) and (we may have been lucky here) our room overlooked a five lock stair on the Forth and Clyde canal, with a walk of just over a mile on the towpath to the Falkirk wheel.
The hotel does have it’s own restaurant if you wanted to stay within the building but we preferred to venture out so I can’t give a review of this.
In summary, this is a really good place to stay, ideally located for the town, the Falkirk wheel and the Falkirk tunnel plus the many other attractions that are around that we didn’t have time to explore. Thanks to the staff for a pleasant stay.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a family room with children aged 11 and 13.
Very good location for visiting the Kelpies and a 30 min walk along the tow path to visit the Falkirk Wheel. Check in was efficient and we had a room on the third floor. The room was very large with 3 beds; however (as always in premier inn) not enough tea/coffee/cups/glasses were provided. No room service but apparently it was available if we asked, not a problem for 2 nights. Overall, it was fine and as expected, only negative was the damp smell from the bathroom, very unpleasant but managed for our short stay. Good location and price so would stay again. The adjoining beefeater was fine, very short staffed when we stayed so long waits to be served and for the bill, but food and drinks reasonable price and very tasty. The breakfast buffet is not served yourself, rather ordered from staff and help yourself to continental.

The stsff were lovely and couldn't do enough which is why it was such a shame that the safety of the accessibility room let this Premier Inn down.
As it was an accesibility room it it was not fit for purpose. The bathroom door had a fault that meant the door wouldn't slide fully, and was also unbalanced so anyone trying to slide it could trap their fingers in it. There wasn't a bath mat nor any anti-slip features in the bath. The kettle did not fit very well in the base and was difficult to get in and out, and seemed to boil for a long time before knocking off.
Cleanliness under the bed left something to be desired when finding used interdental tooth cleaner under the bed at the end of the stay when checking nothing was left behind that had slipped under the bed (In fairness to reception, they were quite shocked and said they would log it and deal with it).
We did report the bathroom issues and also for the main room door to be checked as I physically could not open it and had to rely on my husband/carer to let me out. The first time the maintenance man came unfortunately the 'do not disturb' sign was on the door so that was understandable he didn't knock. When re-arranging and checking for the day after, we found he had been let in by a staff member (not happy as we wanted to be there) and a part had to be ordered. We were then told the maintanance man didn't work weekends which meant we had to struggle with the door/leave it open (with a risk of the steam setting off the alarm). As we departed on the Monday it had meant we had spent the whole of the few days trip with the doors like this.
What I also forgot to put on the Premier Inn survey was that we were not told the heating system wasn't working and that was why an electric radiator was in the room. It wasn't the fact it wasn't working that was the issue as the radiator did the job; it was the fact we weren't told as we were messing around for ages trying to get the panel on the wall to do it's job. It was only when going to reception we found it had been an issue.
We wonder how long that door had been faulty and also if others had had no safety mat in the bath. This Premier Inn with its lovely front desk staff have been let down by the above issues and sadly we will not stay at this venue again much as it is so convenient for The Kelpies that we love.

Stayed here for one night , room not very clean , was disappointed with my stay as it was a treat for my granddaughter’s 19th birthday . We went for the meal deal so headed to beefeater for a few drinks and tea . First the staff wasn’t very please when l ordered a drink then no straws , no hand sanitizer, we put our food order in and our meal arrived l asked for vinegar , the server said she would get it but never came back , 2 of the servers had un ironed shirts . We asked for ice cream with our sticky toffee pudding but got custard ! So we won’t be back to this beef eater again!!

Never stayed in a premier inn before. Normally stay in hotels. I can now say if all inns are like this one we will use them all the time. Room was great plenty of room, and must say comfy bed. I could not fault anything. The breakfast was cooked fresh in the Beefeater next door. Special thanks to Anne Marie she worked so hard to look after us.

Sorry, we also used our car. Could the hotel advise? Local taxi?
If walking is an option, the Wheel is about 1.5 miles from the hotel. Not sure about the Kelpies.
Hi Yes you can its about a 35 min walk along the canal
