I took my teenage daughter away for a girlie weekend shopping and genuinely don't think I could've found a better place to stay! It's that good in fact that I don't want to tell others about it and keep it as a little hidden gem for ourselves! On arrival we were greeted by jacqui, who instantly made us feel at home, after showing us around downstairs, she took us to our very ample sized twin room and left us to settle in for the night. The room was a very good size and had everything you could possibly need in it. The en-suite was the same with a really good sized shower cubicle that had a fantastic power shower in it. You really could just turn up in the clothes that you were stood in and not have to bother that you'd forgot anything. The hospitality tray was loaded with goodies, including fresh milk, that you are given cold on a flask on arrival, and a teapot! The entire place was spotlessly clean. As we were the only guests we had the use of the lounge to ourselves, again this room was amply sized and housed everything you could need or want, books, games, TV, another hospitality tray. There was also a downstairs loo, so no need to traipse back to the room. Breakfast was served around a large farmhouse style table and again there was everything you could possibly want, Jacqui was attentive but not over intrusive, she got the balance just right, same goes for her partner. The cooked breakfast was delicious and set us up fab for our day in Edinburgh. The B&B is set in a perfect location for either Glasgow or Edinburgh but takes you right away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Jacqui had offered to take us to the station (five minutes away) if we wanted but we choose to get the tram into the city. Park and ride is a 15 minute drive away. Ooo n I nearly forgot to mention the plate of treats that had been left out for our return, with a little note. Jacqui certainly goes above and beyond to make her guests feel special and home. We don't know when but am sure we will be back at some point. In a nutshell you'd be hard pushed to find such fabulous hospitality, set in such a tranquil setting, in such a great location (Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel are close by too) anywhere else....Lismore House really does have it all 😀

10 out of 10 and if we could rate it higher we would. Jacqui was a perfect host and the room and breakfast were great. A great location for either a long stay or one off visit. We have nothing negative to say and will definitely choose Lismore House B&B if we venture to Falkirk again.

Have just got back from staying with Jackie at Lismore house. Set next to the family farmhouse there are brilliant views across open countryside. Lismore House was purpose built by converting one of the old cow byres/barns and the rooms are well appointed, spacious and all are en-suite. Jackie & Ian are friendly welcoming hosts and the breakfast is taken around one large central dining table (more of that farmhouse feel). There is a separate sitting room with TV etc. This is an ideal spot to visit Falkirk (the Wheel and the Kelpies are within 30 mins drive) Edinburgh & Glasgow are also easily accessible down the motorway

Lismore House is next to a working farm in a peaceful location in the countryside, yet only 5 mins drive from the M9, Linlithgow and the outskirts of Falkirk. There's a large guests lounge available but we didn't use it on this visit. Lovely large room, comfortable bed and a large shower room (no bath), all spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful, well cooked and included potato scone if desired (not something you get in every B&B). We particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad instead of cereal. Jacqui is really friendly and we spent over 2 hours after breakfast having a good 'blether' with her. We wish we'd found Lismore House sooner as we visit relatives in Falkirk regularly, its equally as good as the more popular B&Bs on the outskirts of Linlithgow.

We stayed at Lismore House near Maddiston, Falkirk for two nights 11/12 Aug 2019. On arrival we received a very warm welcome from Jacqui who took the time to show us our beautiful room and around all the facilities available to us. She knew that we had been in Edinburgh for the Tattoo and asked if we had enjoyed it. We said yes, it was amazing, and when we laughingly explained that we got soaked to the skin the previous evening, she immediately took our bag of wet clothes and laundered them for us. We were extremely grateful as we had a few more days of our holiday and didn’t know what state the clothes would be in when we got home.
Anyway, I digress. The bed & breakfast accommodation is purpose built next to the farmhouse and has everything you could possibly need for a great stay. It was lovely looking out of the windows to see fields of sheep, (Highland ?) cattle and Jacqui’s horse.
Our room was large with a big comfy bed, quality bedding, two armchairs set around a small table in an alcove as well as further drawers & chair, a dresser with a nice big tele on it, bedside cabinets with side lamps and a large built-in wardrobe. There was plenty of tea, coffee etc and real milk and much appreciated home-made cake and biscuits.
There were black-out blinds at the windows which meant that hubby managed a bit of a lie-in as he wasn’t woken by the first rays of sunlight.
The en-suite had a large walk-in cubicle with a powerful shower and lots of hot water. Big white towels were provided together with an assortment of toiletries.
After we had been out exploring during the day, each evening we brought a bottle of wine back and sat in the guest’s lounge on a huge leather sofa watching television. There is a fridge in the lounge and a good choice of glasses if you do fancy a drink.
Breakfast is provided in a lovely area next to a large kitchen. There were lots of cereals to choose from together with fresh fruit salad, yogurt, fruit juices and a pot of freshly brewed tea or cafetiere of coffee. Jacqui’s breakfast truly sets you up for the day and it’s beautifully cooked. There was too much for me, so hubby picked up some extra. If you had room, there was brown or white toast with marmalade & jam to finish off.
All in all, great accommodation, exceptional value for money and a truly lovely hostess. Close to the attractions of Falkirk including the Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies this is an awesome place to stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to everyone who loves personal attention instead of the usual chain hotels.

Highly recommended. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is absolutely delicious. The scrambled eggs were the best as was the whole cooked breakfast, though the scrambled eggs were particularly noteworthy as so many a chef/cook struggle to get them right. The breakfast room is beautifully laid out with a variety of cereals and delicious fruit salad.
Jacqui does a fantastic job. Thoroughly recommended.

We could not fault the Lismore House B&B. Jacquie made us so welcome. The room was spotless and the breakfast perfect.Every evening when we came back there were delicious, home made treats in our room. Jacquie was so friendly and helpful, suggesting places to visit. I would not hesitate to recommend Lismore House to anyone visiting the area and would love to return some day.

Jacqui is a fantastic host! Nothing is too much bother. The room was beautiful and massive. Breakfast was wonderful. Little touches made our stay special. Wish we could have stayed longer. The farmhouse is also very centrally located for Glasgow, Edinburgh and of course Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies.

Jacqui and Iain are fantastic hosts who made our four night stay all the more special with their kind and generous hospitality. We would thoroughly recommend Lismore House and will do our best to return before too long. Our room was beautiful, warm and clean and the treats Jacqui put in our room each day were delicious. Thank you so much.

The guest house was warm, welcoming and comfortable. Very clean and tastefully decorated and furnished. I loved the way antique and new furniture were married together. The room was lovely with tea and coffee making facilities and the landlady bakes her own shortbread and puts it in the bedroom. TV in bedroom and lounge, comfy armchairs in bedroom too. En Suite power shower. Everything was perfect. Huge leather sofas in lounge! Nice views over countryside. Very private. The breakfast was delicious! There was a good choice including porridge cooked in the Aga overnight. Also fresh fruit salad with homemade sugar syrup, full Scottish breakfast with eggs bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, haggis, black pudding, toast and long red beef sausage. Yummy!
