I stayed here for a wedding and had a lovely overall stay, the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and couldn’t have been more helpful.

It’s a beautiful venue for a wedding however the actual room accommodation was a bit dated. There was mould on the windows in the room and in the bathroom (possibly mould staining on the grouting) but it was also in the corners of the steel fixtures. The shower head could be replaced with one for better water flow because the one that is there is of a pretty poor standard. I also had a wee spider visitor in the bathroom. But i just let him chill in the corner.

There was no valance on the beds in the room which made the room look a bit cheap. (I don’t think this is due to covid as other rooms had the valance sheets on the bed). One of the chairs was stained also, as well as the floor.

The beds were not great, very poor quality unfortunately. It was difficult to get to sleep just because of the quality of the mattress however once I did get to sleep I did sleep well. The pillows were very floofy and comfy and so was the duvet. There were no plugs next to the bed that you can plug your phone into, so if you’re one of those people who charges your phone overnight and also as your alarm then you’re out of luck!

The room was also quite dull, but I did have a lovely view of the countryside out of mine. There was no overhead light so it did make it difficult to do make up etc. The room could probably be brightened up a bit by painting the really dark wood a light, bright colour.

My room was a twin, and it was a really generous sized, spacious room. Plenty of storage space and you had a kettle, hair dryer and iron board in the room. The room was clean (except for the mould) and functional and was good for a couple of nights stay. There are no fridges in the rooms. The soap that was provided was in bar form and it was a lovely smelling hand soap. There was also one in the shower, this was a liquid soap.

The breakfast was great, plenty of options and best of all they had tattie scones. However, they had run out of some items very early on on the morning of breakfast. The orange juice was average but the black pudding was amazing (stornoway black pudding). You could also get room service which was nice.

As mentioned earlier, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating if they tried, they were all so friendly and helpful and they really made the stay something special.

10/10 for a wedding venue
5/10 for actual accommodation
10/10 for the staff
9/10 for the breakfast

We booked this hotel through a third party site for a couple of nights away. The hotel has a large car park. Our room was in the garden wing. Spotlessly clean, however, there was a bit of mould on the grout in the shower, lovely big, fluffy towels. We had to close the window as our room at the back of the wing isn’t far away from the motorway and we could hear a lot of lorries pass.
Location is ideal for exploring the Falkirk area but there’s not a lot in close vicinity, although The Kelpies are a 10 minute walk away.
The staff we encountered at reception, in the bar, and especially at breakfast were all super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was piping hot and lovely both mornings. The second morning they had introduced some cold buffet items as restrictions start to lift. Hot items cooked to order.

Great location for visiting the Kelpies,10 mins walk along road then along a short path at side of canal,we ate at Cooks which was delicious ,breakfast was in hotel and equally delicious ,staff were very nice and friendly. Room was a bit dated and there was a really musty smell from curtains ,also the bathroom had no toiletries not even one of those teeny bars of soap, having not brought our own we went a walk looking for a shop but after an hour gave up ,there isnt any .there was a half used bottle of shower gel bolted to wall which we had to make do with ,on the upside the bed was very comfy and these minor faults didnt cause us a problem as it was only an overnight stay and it wouldnt put us off booking again.

Our two day stay was memomorable for both the right and wrong reasons, unfortunately the bad outweighed the good. Number onr rule in any hotel is to ensure the guests safety, comfort and enjoyment, but particularly in the current Covid conscious environment. Not getting fresh bed sheets, having to ask for new towels, not getting glasses and cups replenished and bins not being emptied daily is shocking enough, not to mention gloves not being worn by members of staff when undertaking vital tasks. But the worst thing of all was the jaw-dropping scenes of tables and utensils being cleaned with the same cloth repeatedly when under new Covid regulations this should be done with a new fresh one each time and the cloth disposed of after each use. This hotel has clearly opened without briefing, but more importantly training its staff competently in how to keep safe and ensure guests are being cared for in the correct manner. Whilst the food was enjoyable, this was overshadowed by all of the above. When voicing our concerns at the end, the manager appeared to blame all of this on the pressures of the new Covid regime, however these basic expectations should be compulsory and ingrained in the hotels culture, not haphazardly and complacently forgotten about. These sorry episodes belong in the archives with the once renowned 'Faulty Towers' but any humour apparent in our 2 day stay was only of the tragic kind.
The Fernies.

We check in to this hotel, our 6th after our route 500 in Scotland. We were given keys to our room, very outdated and lots of stains on furniture and soft furnishings not what we were expecting at all. Shower didn't work very poor power to water and spat cold water then boiling hot water at you, was impossible to have a shower. We went to reception to express our concerns and told to use the room opposite, we did but was exactly the same. We made the best of what we were offered and went out for our dinner we had booked. After cold showers went for breakfast and were seated and then completely ignored, the lady Rosie, who the restaurant was named after, showed three couples to their seats and took orders as they sat down before us, after 20 mins sitting and waiting for service we left. Spoke to Andrew the manager to raise our concerns and how upset we were all to be told it was down to Covid?
After all this after checking our booking they had put us in a double room when we had paid for an executive room and have said they don't understand why this happened. No call back at all after calling numerous times, please if you book a room check what they are putting you in as they obviously over book executive rooms and put you in a standard thinking you won't know what room is what. Check and check again with this hotel even better don't book at all.
Water issue has been on going for a long time and obviously have no regard for their customers basic needs.

Dear Julesboo17, Thank you for the feedback following your recent stay with us. As I said when we spoke at the time I was most grateful for the feedback that you gave me while you were at the hotel. I am sorry that we have not met with your expectations however I was pleased to be able to attempt to resolve this while you were at the hotel. As discussed we were experiencing an electrical failure with our hot water pumps which was being investigated at the time, I am pleased to say that the temporary fix that we had implemented has since been resolved. I absolutely understand that this impacted on your enjoyment and was an inconvenience but again we were doing our utmost to resolve this at the time. Having discussed the experience you had at breakfast that morning I was a little disappointed that you did not allow me to resolve this at the time, I was however pleased that you accepted my offer to refund the breakfast charge which I was happy to do under the circumstances. As I explained our breakfast staff have been with us for many years and we usually receive extremely positive feedback for both the service and food quality on offer, I have discussed your feedback with the staff on duty that morning and taken on board their comments also. Once again thank you for the feedback, thankfully the vast majority of our guests leave having been looked after and enjoyed a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I am so sorry that we did not deliver for you on this occasion. Kind Regards, Andrew

After reading the hotels description we were expecting a country manor hotel in its own grounds. What we got was a wedding venue in the middle of an industrial estate!

The lady on reception could not have been more disinterested if she tried. We were told where our room was and nothing much else, there was no 'how has your journey been?',or any general chit-chat, we weren't even told what time we had to checkout.

We booked bed and breakfast in a executive king room at £199 per night for 2 nights and were given room 103 in the main building. I don't know what made it executive it wasn't anything flash! Our view was the hotel carpark and the asda distribution centre.
1 small bottle of elemis shower gel, 1 small bottle of elemis body wash (enough for 1 person to shower), a bar of soap and a shower cap were the toiletries. One bottle of still and one bottle of sparkling water (left in full sun in front of the window)
We found the tea and coffee in a cupboard eventually..uht milk and no biscuits.
We dined at cooks restaurant across the car park which was OK, my husband really enjoyed his meal. My starter was very nice.
We decided to go back to the hotel bar for a drink it was 9 pm, the bar was shut..... apparently, it closes at 9 / 9.30.
We decided to call it a night and went to our room. We tried to have a shower, but there was no pressure at all. It reminded us of a shower we had when we were camping. We went to bed disappointed and annoyed.
There was a wedding downstairs and you could hear the music in ourroom...when that stopped after 1am the noise of the traffic from outside and the rattling single payned window took over along with dripping toilet cistern. It was like being part of an SAS endurance trial.

After no sleep, we went for breakfast. There's a really good choice of breakfast things both cooked and continental. The breakfast staff were very pleasant.
We explained at reception about the shower, and they sent maintenance up who came and looked, but there was no improvement in it at all.
After finding out there was a wedding on the second night, we purchased some earplugs and had a much better night's sleep.
The hotel is in walking distance of the magnificent Kelpies.

I booked in here at late notice with my father and the staff were all very good, polite, attentive and yet not intrusive. Whilst they were all good the barman in particular was excellent. Chatty, nothing was too much trouble and whilst not on the menu he made me fresh coffee and sandwiches as we both preferred a light bite.
The food in cooks was excellent the portions were very large, certainly value for money.
Rooms clean and tidy.
The breakfast I consider cheaper than a lot of hotels and whilst everything was fresh I personally would have preferred slightly more choice from the buffet (wider range of fruit and yoghurt) and from the hot menu although there was a veggie breakfast perhaps the option of a veggie breakfast roll so there was something hot but not quite a big breakfast.
Would stay again.

Stayed here a few nights ago on a trip backdown from the Scottish highlands, we’d got a good deal on DBB and in all honestly it was a very pleasant stop off. Although the part we stayed in was a little dated the shower was hot, fabulous size bath sheets, comfy bed, what more do you need? The quality of the dinner and breakfast the following morning was excellent. Covid secure as well which is a must in these strange times.
A special thank you to Rosie who looked after us in the restaurant - she was lovely- and to the lovely receptionist who gave us a very warm welcome and checked us out the following morning-two people who are great at their jobs
We would definitely do a return stay when we’re next on our travels in that area

We were here just for one night. Got a hotel breaks deal. We both loved it.
I am on crutches awaiting a spinal op, and Shona on reception done everything to make sure our room was perfect for us. Ground floor. Nice big deep bath, and a shower.
We'd definitely recommend this hotel, based on the food alone! Dean is a very talented Chef. Our food was simply delicious. Fine dining at a reasonable price and decent portion sizes. I had lamb as a main. It was so tender. Followed by hand made profiteroles which were to die for!
We were served by Rosie, both for dinner, and again for breakfast. Brilliant service all round.
We kind of got the feeling that during covid, the staff worked well as a team. We felt safe at all times too.
The location is ideal for visiting the Kelpies, and also has free parking.
Don't hesitate to book this hotel. You won't regret it xx

We had a good stay at Grange Manor, which is in a good location for The Kelpies (about a 15 minute walk along a gorgeous canal path).

The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful and we all enjoyed a lovely dinner at the adjacent Cooks restaurant and breakfast in the cute Rosie's tearoom. We didn't use the bar as we had a bottle of fizz in our room.

Our room was in the annexe at the back of the hotel. It was a good size and comfortable with a fab shower, although the furniture was a little tired and the decor rather dated.

We would return for a future stay.

Hi Scotgirl. As I was driving, my wife did have a small glass of red wine and I think it was about £3.80 for a 125ml. Quite expensive, but no more so than most hotels.
