Me and my girlfriend stayed for one night in the helix Hotel and we want to say a big thank you to Stacey! From the moment we walked in Stacey was very friendly and helpful with good energy that instantly made you feel comfortable and happy to be there. She deserves the 5 stars herself as she really did make our stay there the best it could of been. Also the hotel we couldn't fault as it was clean and tidy and has everything you need. Thanks again Stacey for making our stay so much fun!

I wouldn't generally leave negative reviews because let's face it, sometimes things can and do go wrong, and aren't always anyone's fault. But from the perspective of a solo female traveller this really can't go unsaid.
I would describe my check in as...well, a little bit TOO friendly (at least, too friendly once I had got past the third degree grilling under caution as to why the computer said I had paid in full in advance, when Booking.com can't take advance payments - well sorry, yes they can and they do, and I have a receipt to prove it). I was shown to my room by the manager himself and once inside, was engaged in a fairly long discussion about the history of the hotel and recent renovations. I appreciate his keenness as the hotel is new, but to be honest when I get to a hotel room after a long drive I just want to relax, not stand awkwardly next to my bed talking to a man I've only just met. Anyway.
The room was immaculate and I couldn't fault it. The place has only been open for a few weeks so naturally everything is very clean and fresh and the decor is pleasant. I did discover quickly that the reason the window was open on arrival is because the temperature would quickly reach something akin to that of the surface of the sun without keeping it open - even the corridor upstairs feels like a sauna and they really should think about turning the heating down a bit.
Other comments about what is and isn't in the room are just minor niggles of the kind that could be dealt with by leaving a postcard in a suggestion box at the point of leaving - no bathroom mat to step out of the shower onto, only one drinking vessel in the room which also doubles as a container for tea and coffee sachets, so that it needs to be washed before use, only one small bin without a lid in the bathroom, that kind of thing. Things that I am sure with the right encouragement they will quickly put right and certainly not reason enough for complaints or deciding not to stay again. So on that front no real issues.
I was disappointed to find on my return from work on the second day to find that the room had not been serviced, necessitating a rather embarrassed trip to reception to ask for more loo roll. The fact that the tiny bin hadn't been emptied was an annoyance and it was clear that the room hadn't been touched. However I do have to say that sometimes when I stay elsewhere I do leave a 'do not disturb' sign on the door - too many thoughts running through my head of cleaners rifling through underwear and borrowing perfume, but that's just my own paranoia I suppose.
My real problem was later on that evening. At 10:40pm I Skyped my husband to say goodnight. We chatted for ten minutes (at normal speaking level, no swearing, no shouting and no drunken laughter, just a normal conversation) at which point there was a knock on the door. I had no intention of answering as I was in bed but shouted hello - a voice said "It's Megan". "Errm..Yes??" "I've forgotten my room key so I can't get in". At this point I was on full alert. Do I know anyone called Megan? Why are they trying to get into into my room? Is this a prank? Is it a mistake, should they be at another door? After a few awkward seconds of silence while I processed this, the voice continued: "The family next door can hear you speaking on your phone and they can't go to sleep". I was dumbfounded. At 10:50 on a Saturday night staff complain...that I am having a normal volume conversation?? How thin are these walls???
Suitably chagrined and a tad more than a little spooked by the exchange, I put the phone down and also turned off the tv, which too, was at a minimal level but perhaps, the neighbours might too find this offensive. Would they hear if I got up to the loo in the night? Were the walls really that thin??
Needless to say, whatever the issues of my delicate neighbours (who perhaps have never had to stay in a budget hotel before and encounter real problems like doors slamming and hen parties rocking up at 2am to continue their celebrations through the wall), what really upset me here was the badly handled exchange at my bedroom door. The member of staff clearly had no worries about letting herself right into my room if she'd only remembered her key. I've read other reviews of this hotel citing staff friendliness but that's just going a bit too far and is one reason I will definitely not be returning, no matter how good the deal.
A final comment - the manager and his staff should perhaps find somewhere better to stand smoking than by crowding around the doorway of the hotel. It does nothing for first impressions at all when you have to walk through a silent, watching group of staff and their smoke and just creates the impression of a pub or youth hostel.

Great hotel, simple but modern decor and very clean. Convenient location, welcoming and caring staff. Only fault found was the guest next door talking loudly on the phone, on Saturday night from 22:00 past 23:00, preventing our child from sleeping, and putting a hotel staff member in an uncomfortable position as she was was forced to knock on the door to ask the guest to lower her voice . Only shows how 1 bad apple rots the whole basket! Sadly there are disgruntled people out there who view budget hotels as a venue to disarm their arsenal of bad manners and socially unacceptable behaviour...

This hotel opened in March so it is brand brand new. There is no lift so if you have heavy suitcases and your room is on the 3rd floor - have fun! In our case the staff did offer to carry them but we refused as we only had two suitcases and they weren't too heavy.
The service we received was absolutely great - Meghan was on-duty during our late check-in and as we had no green tea in our room, she offered me tea of her own which was very thoughtful of her and very much appreciated.
The room was spacious and though cold at first, heated up very quickly. The mattress was finally hard and not soft like some of the ones we had at B&Bs we had stayed at previously. The only negative thing is that the walls of the hotel are quite thin so if people walk in the hallway or talk loudly in the room next to you, you can hear it.
We had a car so location didn't matter to us - but there is a 24-hour ASDA walking distance from the hotel so if you need anything or want some snacks, you can get it all there.

Just back from an overnight at the Helix Hotel and could not believe what we got for our money. We had never stayed here before and just needed a wee stop over for the night and seen this place on booking.com and booked it although I was slightly worried however there was no need to be. From the minute we arrived the girl at reception was so pleasant and helpful. Our room was beautiful and so clean and fresh. We went to the nice cosey bar which is very reasonable and again the service was lovely. We arrived for breakfast not knowing what to expect but were blown away, it was one of the best breakfasts I have experienced staying at a hotel plus again the gentlemen serving was so lovely and nothing was a problem. Simple wee touches like take away cups to take coffee or tea with you I thought was great. I have stayed in many hotels especially for work and its theses wee things that make hotels stand out. The selection of breakfast was fab. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Helix Hotel is in Grangemouth which is 10 minutes bus ride from Falkirk center. You should get number 3 from center to get to the hotel and number 4 when you go to center. If you get number 4 from center you will take a big round in Grangemouth even though you will reach the hotel in the end. The lady in the reception was quite helpful even she broke her finger in the afternoon. The room was clean, large and warm. You can turn the heater on yourself. There are shops and cafes nearby and both Kelpies and Falkirk Stadium are 5 mins bus ride.

Please don't be put off by the location of this hotel!! Once you are inside it is very modern and lovely..
We have just returned from a two night stay and have to say we were very impressed with the hotel, we were checked in by a lovely young lady who was very welcoming and made a fantastic first impression! The room was lovely and very clean. Nice big comfy bed and great shower! We asked for an iron and hairdryer during our stay and they were brought to our room straight away.
We are returning next month and will definitely be staying here again :)

Very friendly welcome to a recently refurbed hotel. Front door and wifi access codes provided on entry. Room clean, bed comfy and shower more than adequate. No frills as such but room more than adequate for my one night stay. Central location ideal for access to shops/ pub. Not that far from motorway junction and local attractions such as Helix Park and Kelpies.

Our room had a small enSuite, a small shower, toilet and a sink. I would not recommended this hotel at all!
Hi sorry i dont know if its dog friendly but you should ask. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
No pets allowed!
You can't get a direct bus from Falkirk High Station but you do have 2 options; if you get the tourist bus (F14) from the High Station down to main Falkirk town, you can change there for a number 3 bus to Grangemouth, which stops within 100 metres of the hotel. Alternatively you can walk through the car park and down the hill from the High Station and pick up the number 3 from the bottom of the hill all the way to Grangemouth. The second option is probably better because the F14 bus only runs once an hour but the No 3 bus runs every 20 minutes. I hope this helps.
Think it's 5pm. Last orders 8.40pm. Very occasionally if there is nobody and no bookings he might close the kitchen early. We are locals/regulars. Food is great. Freshly cooked. Would recommend booking then there should be no problem. Can recommend the steak pie yum
