Booked several months before arriving and asked for a sea view room. When we arrived we were told that rooms were only allocated the night before arrival so no sea view was available. What we got was an attic room with a view of the car park, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and a brown stain on the duvet cover....

A grand old building in a ideal location, which I'm surprised has not been subject to renovation by the owners. However, the structural shortcomings were more than compensated by the staff who made our stay both welcoming and enjoyable. Take note Best Western, it's the people you employ here who make the difference.

First hotel I've rated as excellent. Great location; great view at breakfast; good breakfast; staff friendly and helpful; stayed in junior suite - good space room with 2 kids in sofa bed which is as good as I've seen; super king double bed and small kitchen. Overall could not fault this. Roll out of hotel onto old course or beach....

Great location just to the side of the old course at St Andrews. Room had a great view and the bed was comfortable. Walked across to play the course so the location couldn't be better. Great staff. Great hotel with good food but even better location - St Andrews University is so close as are many local sites.

we just completed a stay at the fabulous hotel. It is located across the road from the Old Course with a great view of the sea. The staff was always willing to help us. The food was excellent. We were in close proximity to everything we needed in this wonderful Scottish town. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking...

The room was large and had a great view of the sea and St.Andrews. The twin beds were however very uncomfortable, mine slipped to the middle of the room so felt like I was going to fall out of bed all night and the sheets didn't fit on either of the beds, were too short and narrow to tuck in,...

Couldn't believe our luck when we got a room here when we tumbled into town late in the evening. They called in junior suite and it was in all honesty one of the nicer rooms we had during our entire vacation. Reasonable rates, good food and a friendly staff. That's a hard combination to beat. And the location! Where else...

We've just returned home after a lovely three night break in St Andrews. The hotel was excellent although a bit drab. The staff at reception were welcoming and helpful as were the staff in the dining room. Our room was clean & comfortable with a wonderful view over the West Sands but unfortunately the shower was not working & after...
