I'd not recommend this hotel for the business traveller. Whilst the reception and bar area is quite comfortable the food is very limited . The rooms are very small indeed. My room was only just big enough for the bed. No other furniture, not even a chair. Means that it's not possible to chill in you room for any about of time without getting into bed. The staff were all great and the breakfast was ok but I won't be staying again. If your looking for a place to stay for one night for a party/gig/show then it'd be fine but if you're away for more than one night and might have time to kill in your room then I'd look elsewhere.
First the honesty part ,myself and my wife both work in a hotel not far off 35 years service between us ,in the same hotel my wife does reception/f and b ,I do permanent night audit. This is the best Ibis of all 3 varieties we've ever stayed in and we've stayed in plenty and is also the 2nd best Accor hotel we've ever stayed in ,the better one being a different brand several rungs up from Ibis styles even then I wouldn't say there was much in it. Location wise it's very central especially handy for Glasgow central station and although some of the routes may be a bit hilly it's very handy to walk to and explore the city. It doesn't stand out as a building particularly from the outside perhaps a bit anonymous but it's in one of those business areas where many buildings do look the same. No real actual reception area which is typical these days but very friendly ,quick and efficient. Public area very nice lots of seating multi purpose seating ,eating , drinking area. Two lifts which is always good. Corridors very bright well signed to find rooms good carpets so not a lot if noise from dragging luggage etc. Tap locks on room doors a slot to put room card in just inside door to work the electrics. Air cooling was great worked well on our stay ,large TV with good basic selection of channels. Hair dryer iron and ironing board supplied. Very nice bathroom with shower. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was typical Ibis styles offering but with the unexpected addition of basically a full cooked offering as well. We made the mistake of eating at peak time in our first morning and they also had a coach party in so breakfast for ten minutes or so was a bit overwhelmed no cutlery ,no plates very little food but the staff cooked well took a breath all was sorted in ten minutes we just sat with a coffee gave them a chance to catch up. Perhaps for my personal taste although no doubt the temperature probe said it was cooked I found the bacon and sausage a tad undercooked but that's just my taste and being styles I didn't expect the cooked offering anyway so not a major grumble. Our second morning we ate much earlier so a lot quieter but still think the bacon and sausage could have had a bit more colour 😁. Had drinks at the bar our 2nd night it's only a small bar but reasonable choice not outrageous prices but not cheap either. Entire place was spotless during our stay. Being a hotel night auditor I especially appreciate the security outside door locked at 10pm you need your room card to enter and once in the lift you need your room card to go above the 1st floor. A great stay ,and although on our limited time away we like to try different hotels this will be our first choice in Glasgow.…
What a great hotel. Location 5 minutes walk from Glasgow Central and plenty of shops around the area. Perfect location to explore Glasgow. Hotel Rooms We had a Queen Room and it was very spacious and the heating was set perfectly. Large ensuite bathroom with iron, coffee, hairdryer and plenty of space. Finally a hotel which allows USB connection to watch movies from a hard drive. Staff From the minute we arrived to when we left the staff were friendly welcoming and helpful. The guy checking us in and out on Tuesday was brilliant. The gentleman at breakfast was also very helpful. Food The buffet breakfast was amazing. It tasted a lot better than standard buffet breakfast. Plenty of selection and brilliant produce. Highly recommend this hotel and we will return.
This hotel was Excellent the staff were friendly especially the young lad in the bar I can’t remember his name but it may have been Callum he was so welcoming and polite. We had a quick bite to eat before hitting the town we just had burger and chips which was excellent, very generous portions and reasonably priced too. The bar has a free pool table which was a bonus. Breakfast was a buffet with lots of choice of hot and cold food which was great. The room was perfect! very funky and well designed everything had been thought about for example I’ve stayed in rooms before where there’s no plug socket near a mirror, This one has a huge mirror with a plug socket in the right place.. The shower was extremely powerful the bed was sooooo comfy which I made full use of for an extra snooze after breakfast and we also had a late check out till 1pm for no extra cost. Excellent thanks…
I am so surprised at how fantastic this hotel was.. we paid less than £200 for three nights so I wasn't expecting much. The staff were brilliant. The guys on the bar were super friendly. The decor and quirky bits really made it. Our room was lovely. The showers are great too.. will definitely come back
Absolutely phenomenal 3 days. Lovely clean quirky hotel with the best staff who have team morale I’ve ever seen. Douglas makes the best cocktails so ask for him at bar. Superb 10/10 breakfast. Rooms immaculate and very comfortable. Free pool table, tea, coffee and duke box in bar area. Live band on Thursday evenings. Booked to come back already
First stayed here four years ago on a business trip a few weeks after it had opened. This time was an overnight with my wife for a short break. We booked on a wowcher deal which was great value including our Irn Bru welcome pack! Check in was quick and straightforward with very friendly staff. The rooms are on the small side but are spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had a small issue adjusting the room temperature but one of the team came up within a few minutes and it was quickly resolved.Breakfast is self serve with a choice of hot and cold food. It’s regularly topped up and the food area is kept very tidy. All the staff we encountered were friendly and gave a very good impression of the hotel. The location is excellent with a 5/10 minute walk into the city centre. As with my first visit, I would highly recommend. Great value for money, clean and comfortable and staff who are focussed on good customer service.…
Hotel is in a great location, 10 minute walk with Glasgow Central train station. The hotel is near plenty of bars and eating places. The hotel is one of the cleanest i have stayed in. Rooms are very modern and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The bar area is nice , with a TV and a free pool table. The seating area in the bar is lovely. Only minor issue was the shower leaking. Slightly expensive for a 2 night stay.
Absolutely amazing. Everything about it. Seems much more than 3 stars. Staff are so friendly, helpful and pleasant and I haven’t even checked in yet. They have allowed us to stay in the communal area till our room is ready and have made us most welcome; lots of extras. Will come back again definatly. Central location. Thanks
Yes there is a Piano as the reception! And a big arrow pointing to it. And records on the wall and free gifts of local items like IrnBru. And I LOVE it. So much better than your standard Travellodge or other brand. Bed was comfortable with 4 different types of pillow from firm to soft. Room a bit small, like a New York Hotel, but I wasnt staying for a week. If I was, I would look for a different hotel. Loved the bar and the prices were good compared to London. Good service too. This Hotel does what it says on the tin but in style. Would love to come back again.
