I stayed here with wife in February for one night over a weekend. The hotel itself is in a good central location, the decor is possibly a bit dated and could do with a tidy up but overall we had no complaints. The staff were very friendly.

Good hotel in a perfect location for roaming the entire town. Many bars and restaurants nearby and walking distance from histotical and cultural sites. Great bed, rest of the room / hotel is somewhat outdated but still okay.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a family wedding. Fairly clean hotel, little bit of updating needed (e.g. Broken tiles and patching up seen in bathroom). But being on the 4th floor meant our room was REALLY hot. Could have done wth air con to be able to cool it down. Saying that, comfy bed, helpful staff, amazing shower and...

Stayed in the Hotel as part of a group. The Hotel is in the city center and well located. Being in the city center, the rooms were quite small but overall the rooms were well equipped with basic amenities like WiFi and tea maker.

Stayed on the 6th floor. Room really warm but couldn't open window too much as bar/club next door open until 6am so too noisy. The room was really small, very little room around the bed to move. Overall facilities were adequate but poor drinks selection on tap in the bar area. Paid £90 for one night which didn't include breakfast...

Hi shyneebod, Thanks for the review. One of the disadvantages of being so central is noise so windows do normally need to be kept shut especially at the side. I don't know when you stayed with us but our prices are demand based so I suspect it may have been a Saturday night. As we are an older property we...

Hi ModernMillie11, Thanks for the review and sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your dinner, I will certainly investigate as there were no reports of complaints that evening. We check people in as rooms are ready, people request different room types so if the right type is not ready at that point then the guest wouldn't be checked in. We...

I stayed for one night. The location is excellent, as it is situated in the city centre. There is guest parking to the rear. The hotel front looks quite modern. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist, who checked myself and my wife in early, as we had arrived early, with no fuss whatsoever. We went straight to the room,...

I needed a city centre hotel that was competitively priced, so went for the Mercure hotel . Check in was easy with staff friendly and helpful. I ate in the "restaurant " area, and the Thai fish cakes and the Caesar salad were well presented and flavoursome and Waitress Leigh was polite and attentive and I didn't have to wait...

Just spent two nights at this hotel, originally booked through Itson deal for classic double but we upgraded to their privilege room at a cost of £40.00 per night so brought the total cost from £145.00 up to £225.00. We stayed in room 605 and if this is an upgrade then I hate to see the classic room. The was...

Hi thomasmA9665HG, Thanks for your review and sorry to hear you do not like the size of our rooms, unfortunately there is little we can do about it without a complete re-modelling. Generally our breakfast gets good reviews my apologies you didn't find that. To maximise space the wardrobes are of an open front design, very much like the ones...
