Found the hotel easily, although the red neon signs outside made the area look a wee bit worrying as to if we were in the red light district!
Not the most welcoming check in I’ve ever had but not rude, just a little stiff , it was much the same at checkout .
Had Requested a room

Pleasant accommodations and very friendly, helpful staff. Convenient location and excellent hearty breakfast included. We had returned to Glasgow to revisit the University and the Clifton hotel is within walking distance and also near plenty of restaurants and shopping.

We stayed here as we were attending a comedy show on Sunday night. We had the honeymoon suite which was pretty comfortable. Liked the two armchairs and table in the room, gave us somewhere to relax with food and a few drinks before heading out. The bed was really comfortable and

We requested gluten free bread for breakfast at the time of booking. On arrival on Friday night, I was told they had run out of it and wouldn't get another delivery until Monday morning, but the receptionist said they would try and get some for me.

Is it close to the transmt festival end of June
No not really that like in the Glasgow Green which is prob a 60 - 90 minute walk. But it is in a great location - on a main bus route and very very near the Hillhead underground station. I have literally just cancelled a booking at the brunswick merchant city hotel (which is near) for the Saturday Night (5th July) so they will have avaiability

How far is it to walk from Queens Station or how long does it take ?
Hello Its about 30-40 minute walk . Or you can get the underground from Buchanan street and get off at Hillhead station and the hotel is a 10 minutes walk from there. Regards Cathy

Hello. My wife and I are flying to Glasgow from California. We'll have 4-5 pieces of luggage, in our rental car. (1) Do you have a drop-off area near the hotel, where I can bring my luggage into the lobby? (2) If not, and if the few spaces in your hotel lot are taken, how far is the walk from the street? (3) Considering the concerns of vandalism and so forth in a large, urban city, would it be possible to reserve a parking space, or do you think the neighborhood is safe to leave a rental car? Thank you.
The hotel is situated on a terrace - a small service road set back from and running parallel to the main road (Great Western Road). This is very quiet and you will have no problem stopping right in front of the hotel to unload your bags. You should ask the hotel for advice about parking as there are lots of restrictions in that part of the city (including resident permits). I would not have any concerns about leaving my car on the street in this area. It is a very safe part of the city. Enjoy your time in Glasgow and be sure to explore the West End (round about where you are staying). Check out Ashton Lane for pubs and restaurants and take the short walk down to the University campus.

"No lift and so make sure you request a ground floor room if you have mobility problems"
"Four poster room was superb and great size if you have a little one with you."
"Our ground floor room was next to reception but was perfectly quiet."
"Would suggest a higher floor room, possibly on the back side away from Buckingham Terrace."
"I think the rooms on floor 2, 6-12, maybe of better quality."
