British people vacation in Spain. As a result, their local hotels don't get adequate support to keep their facilities up-to-date. This hotel's elevator is not working because the proprietor lacks the funds. The rooms are nice: adequate closet space, decent bathrooms. The staff is nice. Close to major tourist spots.

We booked 2 rooms and on arrival there was only one room for us!!, two of the party had to go to another hotel. We found the hotel quite dated and in need of investment, rooms tired, toilet seat didn't even have a lid! Service at breakfast was very slow, around 20mins to be asked what we wanted! When we...

Why do hotels like this get away with charging people to stay. Bedroom was small the chair in the bedroom was stained and looked disgusting. Torn bedsheets. The shower was terrible water only trickled out. Hairdryer was hanging off the wall. The dining room was very tired and the breakfast was average. I had dinner in the bar which was...

Fine. Old fashioned and HUGE. Like going back 40 / 50 years but absolutely enough for a stopover. Dated but comfy. There is not huge choice around, but this gives comfy beds, warm shower, breakfast and off road secure parking for motorcycles round the back. If you don't mind your bikes sharing with nesting swallows and starlings. We didn't. Great...

I got put in this hotel for the first time in years as the area was full. This hotel hasn't improved at all. The good: there was space (should probably tell you something), the food was excellent as indeed it was the last time I was here. The bad: the service throughout was appalling, the suited gent serving the evening...

I stayed at the Royal Hotel in Thurso for two nights in mid May. A number of colleagues have stayed here previously and didn't think to much of it so I had a certain trepidation about my visit. The hotel is definitely in need of a complete refurbishment and has a distinct 70s feel about it. However, it's clean or...

This is an older hotel near Thurso, in northern Scotland. My room was very small but enough room to walk around. The bathroom was extremely small with the bathroom sink in the bedroom. The water was very hot or very cold, hard to get it adjusted to a perfect temperature. The bed was just a single bed but comfortable. I...

On a recent motorcycle trip around the North West of Scotland (commonly known as the NC500) I booked myself and two friends into the Royal Hotel after the second day of our journey. For ease of getting organised for an early departure we had all agreed on acquiring single occupancy rooms with en-suite facilities. We checked in quickly and headed...

My Apologies about the mix up on your room allocation. To be honest I have no idea what happened and therefore make no excuses. I'm glad everything else was Ok and hope you enjoyed the remainder of the NC500 Hamish

We arrived at Thurso after being blown in on a gale complete with snow and freezing temperatures. We were duly given our single bed rooms which were quite dark and oppressive. The shower cubicle was tiny and the cold shower curtain wrapped itself around you. Due to my shower being on the blink I was moved to a twin room...

Stayed here in twice now. I'm not saying that price was a major factor but it was! This is very cheap & cheerful no thrills hotel. Have been told by many people that the hotel is up for sale itself, so the current owners won't be spending any silly amount of money. In ways of money being spent, it is...
