Doesn't look much from the outside but we were looking for cheap basic accommodation on our nc500 trip. Room basic with shower toilet and wash basin . Beds were ok. Has a tv in room and good wifi. Breakfast was help yourself to cereal and toast tea and coffee or take your own. Kitchen has a cooker and microwave and...

This is my second stay at Sandra's and I can't fault the place at all! George your the best! Thanks for making our stay very comfortable again. I'll be back very soon. I feel like I can just chill and relax and I can always count on meeting some really cool people at your hostel. Thanks again!

The only good things I can say about this hostel are that it has good wi-fi, the kitchen is ample, and it is very centric, so railway station, stores, etc. are really close by. While my room and the en-suit shower/toilet (and to some extent, the kitchen) looked clean enough, the whole place looks run-down and abandoned. It's depressing. There...

Staff were friendly and helpful. Hostel was warm and cosy. Rooms were clean and adequate with their own ensuites. Several takeaways close by and short walk to train station and Tesco. Rooms are arranged in 3 areas so good for groups.

Enjoyed staying at Sandra's Backpackers as part of my tour of Caithness. Hygiene and the cleanliness of the place has certainly improved since my last stay in October 2015, particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms. I thought both the owners were friendly and allowed me store my bags in the kitchen prior to getting the train back to Inverness. It...

Twin ensuite room with bunkbeds. Window in ceiling. It was very clean and although we had to continually press the shower button, the water was plenty hot. Didn't find the man overly friendly but the other guests were. Not much character, quite plain and basic, but for £42 for the room, we were OK with that. Nice to have stuff...

I booked this thinking it was a bed and breakfast for me and my wife as I had work the next day on the Orkney Islands, after a seven and half hour drive we were eager to have a shower and changed to get something to eat, when we got there had to knock on side door as reception was...

Good value for a private room wiht breakfast included. Fully equip kitchen, with decent sized dinning room for size of hostel. Close to everything in town. Great stay until alarm started ringing at 6:50 am and when we called reception they didn't do anything about it except put a towel over it until we checked out at 10. Ruined what...

I opted for the £42 room so I could have a little privacy and not have to share with other people. The bed was comfy, the pillows were comfier! The en-suite bathroom was very nice, clean and the shower was actually hot! There was communal huge kitchen area with a variety of cereal with milk etc in the fridge. Cooker...

Stayed here with 4 friends on the first night of our charity JOGLE cycle ride. We weren't expecting luxury and therefore were not disappointed. The rooms are basic and whilst not spotless, were not too bad and met our needs. The kitchen/dining room area was clean and tidy with a good selection of basic breakfast items available ( ie Cereals,...
