This hotel is a place we have driven past on many occasions as it is too close to our home , but after booking a night enroute to our holiday destination to shorten the next days traveltime I will find it difficult to not include this gem in our next trip . The staff are friendly . The hotel is...

We had a wonderful, romantic room in this castle overlooking the sea! The stairs were a bit daunting, but staff will bring your bags up (and down) for you. The atmosphere was very nice- you had modern conveniences, but knew you were in a castle! Great view from our room of the sea and great historic rooms throughout. No WiFi...

Spent three nights at the Tower. Highlight of our trip so far. We spent two weeks in Ireland and will spend nearly three weeks in Scotland. Arrived on late Sunday afternoon and were cheerfully shown our rooms. We were on the third floor and there is no lift! However overall that is not a problem. The rooms are large and...

The staff were amazing. Friendly, helpful, kind. The management was however non existent so service was chaos. food good - great ingredients and plain cooking. Menu restricted and often sold out . Wine on list never in stock and starters arriving with main course etc. However when you realise you are not going to get anything like a 5 start...

Dear Guest, thank you for your review on Ackergill Tower. I appreciate your observation regarding the quality of catering on offer, ingredients and location. I have to support your observation regarding the error on the evening. I have been on site that evening but were pulled away to deal with aspects at the cottages hence why I did not see...

If you want a setting and location then this hotel is superb. After that the rest was average at best. The staff tried very hard to be helpful but they lacked the necessary hospitality skills. The food was decidedly average and was neither cooked nor presented to the level that one would have expected. It was over priced and it's...

My I please ask to contact me on 01955 603556 or via e-mail at marcellc@ackergilltower.com. I do find anonymous tripadviser review like your highly frustrating for it does not offer any details for us to refer to. I value each and every guest and that is taking the time out to visit us at Ackergill and that we can share...

I travelled with a friend and we rented the one of the self-catering lodges next to the main castle called "The Stables" for 2 nights so this review is solely based on my experience in The Stables and not in the Castle. The location of both Castle and The Stables is superb - remote, beautiful and unique. The Stables forms...

Had a lovely night up here, arrived slightly before check in but we're shown to our room straight away. Friendly staff. Gorgeous room. We were up 2 sets of spiral concrete stairs to a room right at the top of the tower. Lovely breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere - perfect to chill out xxx
