Absolutely loved my time at the hostel, staff was very helpful and friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of information about the area! Rooms were well kept and cleaned daily while we were out. Great place to meet new people and exchange travel stories. Highly recommended staying here if you're in Inverness!

I had a really fun stay at this hostel and I will tell you why. The atmosphere. The people were really friendly right when I walked through the door and kater in the evening when the hostel filled up there was loads of conversation to be had. The location is fine, just a bit off the town centre. They could... More

Hey Charlie! I am glad that you had a fun time with us! Yes we would like to have lockers in the rooms, but as you noticed, some of them are pretty small and that would be inconvenient. We offer to keep the valuables in reception, we do have a big safe and it is kept locked all the time.... More

Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The free tea/ hot chocolate was a great touch as was the luggage area which is very handy! Beds are decent. Living area was colourful and cosy, great place to relax and chat to other people staying there. Also has board games.

I spent one night here in a mixed room with five people. The hostel was very clean, the staff were really friendly and helpful, and the location was good. It is less than a 10 minute walk into the city centre. I would recommend this hostel to my friends.

I have stayed in many hostels while travelling , and this one was one of the more expensive for the night and was not very nice at all. The pictures shown are obviously from when it first opened as it is very run down now. The rooms are very small and cold and a bit smelly, worse yet there is... More

Hi Abbie! We are very sorry you had an unpleasant stay at our hostel. I know the building is a little bit dated but we have renovations planned for this year (including power plug and a light for each beds) and we are trying to freshen it a little. As you have noticed the room are quite small and it... More

Really nice hostel. Very friendly and nice atmosphere. Close to the water and with a great view of the castle. It is about a 10 minute walk from the old city and transport stations. The people working there are very accommodating and nice. They have a really cheap breakfast available as well. Highly recommended.

Just like the sister hostel 'Skye Backpackers', Inverness Student Hotel was a nice experience for me. I've been there before Isle of Skye and also on my way back. Dorms aren't the best i've seen but they are clean and comfortable. Toilets and showers were also clean. Kitchen and community areas are also available for guests. It doesn't have a... More

I have stayed here for a night couple of weeks ago, the booking was done through the tour company I went with. The only good thing about the hostel is its location. 3 of us from the tour have stayed there, and we all had the same feelings about this place. The rooms were very cold, for a 6 bed dorm... More

I stayed here on recommendation. The location is pretty good for the sights and city amenities. Good kitchen, good lounge space, easy to meet people. However, my first night in the hostel, the staff (wrongly) chose to let an incredibly drunk man stay in the hostel (he didn't have a reservation) and put him in an occupied dorm (mine) which...
