Just back from an excellent long weekend at the beautiful Birchbrae lodges. Travelled from Edinburgh and loved the drive to get here, past Glen Coe and some of the most breathtaking scenery I've ever seen. Arrival at the lodge was really straight forward the owners were there to greet us. We were delighted with Lodge 1. Very spacious, fully equipped... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect. 13 year old son had great fun exploring the woods round about the cabin. Lodge was very spacious ( 4 adults and 1 child). Well equipped with everything we needed. Added bonus was we were only a few minutes walk from the Corran ferry which is free for foot passengers,... More

We are staying at Birchbrae and are enjoying our privacy. The new owners are very accommodating and have worked well with us through our international booking and making sure we found our way and got here safely. Everything is in good working order and very clean. Right off the beaten path in Fort William. Comfy beds and couches and the... More

Birchbrae is located just a few miles outside of Fort William, leaving you in peace and quiet. The lodges are surprisingly spacious and equipped with everything you could need for a trip away. My one issue was the temperamental wi-fi signal which would frequently disappear and was completely unavailable in some parts of the lodge. The owners have however mentioned... More

Stayed here in July as I was climbing Ben Nevis. Lovely, simple, clean lodge... great, hot shower pressure which was needed after the climb! Living room was big with comfy couches and a big coffee table. Kitchen was stocked full of pots, pans and cooking equipment so would've been easy to stay and cook in the lodge. Lodge had a... More

After busy days exploring it was a joy to retreat to Birchbrae lodges to recharge. The lodges are well equipped, warm and cosy. If the weather had been better we might have missed having a place where we could have been sitting outside in the sun...sun, what sun? Because the lodges are set in the forest the verandas are very... More

What a fantastic place. Lovely setting in the trees down by the stream. So peaceful. Great position between Fort William and Glencoe. The bungalow was fantastically equipped, beautifully clean and very comfortable. 2 bathrooms 1 with bath and both with showers. There is option of hiring DVDs but we were incredibly lucky with the weather so didn't do this. However... More

What a great stay. We travelled from London and arrived in the early hours of Saturday morning. John the owner allowed us to gain access and settle in before our climb up Ben Nevis. This was a very generous and welcoming. All facilities in the cottage were like being jome away from jome. The bess were comfortable and the kitchen... More

If it's a peaceful, relaxing break in a comfortable well equipped lodge you're looking for, the Birchbrae Self Catering Lodges are the answer. We stayed in Lodge No 4 which is the last of four on the lower row - the fifth lodge (No5) has disabled access. We booked as Birchbrae is dog friendly and we were not disappointed. Three... More
